Reflection 1 Reflection Paper Morgan Slaughter CJUS 520 Administration of Justice Organizations Liberty University March 27, 2024
Reflection 2 Abstract Administration of justice encompasses a wide range of activities related to the legal system and its functioning. Understanding and improving justice systems require attention at multiple levels, from societal structures to organizational practices.” (nationalacademies.org) This paper will show how these organizations work continuously to strive for a better justice system in today’s society. Together, they give a fair and effective legal framework for all society. These components work together from start to finish to deliver justice and make sure that everyone's rights are at the forefront. They also involve individual's rights. They are there to make sure that our rights are protected. Keywords: administration of justice, societal, organizational, operational
Reflection 3 Administration of Justice Organizations Worldview Administration of justice is defined as a set of theoretical concepts, research methods and techniques, aimed to investigate the management processes associated with the use and articulation of resources, knowledge, and institutions, at different levels of the justice System. ”RAUSP Management Journal, Administration of Justice: an emerging research field, 4/10/2018) The administration of justice is created to make sure that people's rights are protected under the law. On the societal level, you have three branches of power; the judicial branch, the executive branch, and the legislative branch. In recent years, we have seen an unbalance with such things as police brutality and racial discrimination. Law enforcement is now being looked at more than ever to make sure that everyone is treated fairly. Today, law enforcement has lost so much trust with their communities, and they must work to gain that back. Within each community, if they cannot trust law enforcement, then they will not feel safe having them around. Law enforcement is there to protect and serve. Working within the community to regain some of the trust they lost would be a plus on their side. When they gain the community's trust, they will help the police in keeping their community safe from harm. Leadership, Organizational Models and Theory Operational levels are basically watching how each component operates. You have law enforcement officers, who you must work with to make sure their behavior is always what it should be and not out of line. Second, there is the court system, where each defendant is on trial for a particular crime and makes sure their rights are being protected. They have the right

to a fair trial with an attorney. The third is the correction facility. Once the defendant has been found guilty of a crime and sentenced, they are sent to a correctional facility to do their time. These facilities are always under scrutiny to keep them safe and up to standard. If they are Reflection 4 going to be able to improve these systems, then it will take a lot of attention to the details of what is going on with each component. You need to make sure that each person has access to What is awarded them by the justice system. They have rights and each of these must be explained to the individual and make sure they understand each of them. At the organizational level, they research the processes being used within the justice system. This level consists of policies used, resources needed and behaviors. Knowledge of these practices can help legitimize these operations. There are quite a few administrative of justice organizations, beginning with: the United States Department of Justice, The FBI, the US Marshall Service, the ATF and the DEA. All these departments are essential to keep order in our society. Personal Worldview in the context of Administration of Justice I think we have a lot of work to do with our justice system. In the past years, we have gone through so much with inequality, racial bias, and police brutality, that we need to begin looking closely at our police officers when they are hired. There needs to be a better screening process to make sure that they are not biased towards anyone, and that they know just how far they can go with a suspect without overstepping boundaries. Our police need to once again be respected by their community’s. They need to interact with people and give them reassurance that they are there to protect and help them. Our prisons are at capacity right now and just getting worse. There needs to be groups that make sure they are maintained well and that the prisoners are not mistreated and have what they need. They are paying their debt to society, but they are still
human beings. I do believe in our justice system because what else do we have? The system has failed people at times, but for the most part, it does its job well. I believe that our courts Reflection 5 make sure the defendants' rights are respected and that they receive a fair trial. I stand with these organizations because they protect us all and do their job well. I would love the opportunity to work with one of them in the future. Conclusion “In conclusion, to make the administration of justice in the modern city, what it should be, we must have first, more thorough knowledge of the social conditions in our cities, for which law must be devised and to which it must be applied.” (Pound, Roscoe, The Administration of Justice in the Modern City, February 4, 2013) We need to focus on society and the problems that are plaguing the communities today. Once they can figure out just what is needed to get back to trust and respect for all, then maybe we can begin to work together and live together helping each other keep safe and show understanding for each other.
