Riipen Project-Gamejobs.Ninja 1. Risk Management The process of identifying, assessing, and controlling threats to an organization's capital and revenue is called risk management. These threats may come from a variety of sources, such as exposure to various and sometimes, unforeseen risks that cause the company to lose more or less. Risk management helps different organizations prepare for their risks before they occur and reduce their costs and other unexpected risks by anticipating these risks (Cole, 2019). Game production projects have a lot in common with other IT projects. However, due to their simultaneous focus on creativity and art, along with presenting a product to the market for sale, a unique work environment is created and companies may face certain risks. The ability to manage risk and prioritize important tasks in the workplace is important, especially for people who work in the field of computer games ( Schmalz et al., 2014) . Risk Matrix The risk matrix is a convenient tool for quickly identifying and calculating risk in a particular project, and familiarity with it demonstrates a candidate's ability to manage risk properly. This matrix weighs the potential damages caused by making a mistake in each case and makes it easier to prioritize problems; therefore, the project will be continued in a safer condition. In this matrix. In risk matrix, the rows show the probability of the risk and the columns show the severity of it and by multiplying the probability and the severity of a hazard, we can calculate the acceptability of the risk (Figure 1) (Markovic, 2019).
Question: 1. Here are three risks that you may face during your work. Please prioritize these risks based on the probability and severity of them and place them in the matrix below. The system may fail due to overheating of the servers. A $5000 loss per hour due to downtime. Necessary information may be deleted but can be restored from backup. Answer: Our purpose in this part is ? ? ?
to find out if candidates are familiar with the risk matrix as a key tool in risk management, and whether they are able to prioritize the risks. The abovementioned risks should be categorized as high, medium, low respectively . 2. Conflict Management Conflict means strong opposition, which usually occurs when people in a company fight for their personal goals and do not consider the overall goals of the organization. Conflict is inevitable whenever a group of people works together, but proper management is essential for a company to achieve its goals. If the conflict in the company is not managed properly, it will increase absenteeism and reduce productivity. Conflict management actually focuses on limiting the negative aspects of the conflict and increasing its positive aspects, and its goal is to increase team productivity and performance which is necessary especially in game industry. The strategies for managing conflict are Avoidance, Competition, Compatibility, Collaboration, and Compromise (Overton et al., 2013). To measure conflict management skills, an employee needs to examine the existence of certain abilities in the candidates based on their answers to the assessments. Here are some abilities related to conflict management skill: Empathy : Empathy involves understanding the emotional states of other people. To understand and embrace empathy assists in our collective ability and willingness to resolve conflict. Communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and staff is essential, no matter what industry you work in. Impartiality: we need to focus only on the conflict itself.

Patience: it is important to know that it takes time that a conflict be solved, even if we know the solution (Overton et al., 2013). Questions : 1. Give an example of when you disagreed with your co-worker while working on a project. Please explain how you expressed your opposition and what happened? 2. What would you do if your manager gives you negative feedback on a part of the project you have been working on, and if you know that the problem is not from your side and is from another part? Answers: 1. A candidate with acceptable conflict management skill is expected to answer to these questions by explaining how he/she can resolve conflicts, highlight his/her characteristics and skills that can help him/her in problem solving proficiency, try to answer clearly and Give a relevant example to support his/her words. 2. Candidates may answer this question in different ways; however, the best answer is the one that shows the candidate’s communication skills, patience, impartiality, and the ability of prioritizing. Here are some of the answers to the question: I make the requested change and let my manager find out later that the problem was from another part. Because I know where the problem is and my manager does not know, the moment I get the feedback I try to explain to him/her that the problem is not on my side but from somewhere else.
I will make the change and later, with sufficient reasons and documentation, I will tell my manager that the change must be applied elsewhere. Before making any changes, I try to gather enough documentation and reasons and explain to the manager in a meeting that the problem is from somewhere else and that the change needs to be made elsewhere (Best answer).

Answer : Answering questions that are in the scenario style varies from person to person and in fact has no definite answer. When the interviewer asks the candidate questions in this context, he / she should pay attention to the items in their answers, in spite of which it can be concluded that the person has time management skills. Some of these are: Prioritizing: Here we use the Eisenhower matrix to prioritize tasks, and the description is based on this matrix. Based on this matrix, tasks are divided into four categories: urgent, not urgent, important and unimportant. If a person, in answering questions, mentions that at the beginning of his time planning he classifies tasks according to their importance and then does them, it means that he follows this rule.
Having a certain “To do list” for every day : It is very important for the interviewer to consider whether the person is accustomed to writing down the things they have to do every day. Having a clear to-do list allows people to focus more on their goals and not forget even the smallest tasks they have to do. These people never get confused and even save a lot of time at the end of the work day because they did everything at the right time . Stress Management: This is a psychological trait that has a great impact on time management. In this way, when some people are faced with a high volume of work, stress causes a decrease in their level of productivity and efficiency. As a result, they lose time while not getting things done. In contrast, people who have self-control and can manage the amount of stress caused by work and managing their time well in different situations. This feature can be easily understood from how they answer the question. Those who give sparse answers when answering and do not use any rules to express problem solving show their stressful personality. Task Management The importance of task management in businesses is that the team can proceed exactly according to the budget, which protects the company from excessive costs. It also helps to achieve the strategic goals of the organization and team members at the highest level of efficiency, creativity and satisfy do their duties. Question.1

Importance of A good Team Manager Managing a team successfully implies creating a positive workplace, changing any prejudices, and sustaining a better job environment for everyone involved. It is essential to understand that even a team with the brightest skillset could not function to its fullest without the crucial team managerial skills. A great team manager studies his team and works out solutions to enable his team in honing their skills and employ their best attributes. QUESTIONS TO ASSESS TEAM MANAGEMENT SKILLS: PLEASE USE THESE 3 CATEGORIZATIONS AS A QUICK REFERENCE FOR THE QUESTIONS AND THEIR PROBABLE ANSWERS PART. (Valamis.com, 2021) Autocratic , this type of management style refers to one-way communication from the higher level of the management to the lower levels. This is the most controlling amongst all the management styles, where management takes decisions and holds all the power. It is a highly authoritarian style of leadership. Democratic In this style, managers ask for the opinions of their teams and incorporate them in their plans if they think it is a worthwhile addition. Communication is seen in both directions; the management communicates to the employees and acts with the feedback it receives from the team. The environment can be described as 'cohesive.' This process enables opinions, skills and ideas to be shared for making more informed decisions. Laissez-faire style - In this style, the management does not involve itself with the employees' work style and assumes the people to be competent enough to make their own decisions and work towards the set goals. Management is active at the delegation and delivery stages of work but does not meddle. It gives the employees the freedom to control their
workstyle and outputs. The management makes itself available if the team asks for their assistance. NOTE: Here, the answer given by the candidate can then be divided into one of these categories. Depending on the need of the organization, it can be regarded as favorable or non-favorable. QUESTION 1: A market crisis is quickly unfolding, and you and your team need to act now to handle it. What do you do? (Valamis.com, 2021) Probable Answers: 1. “Handle it myself. I plan a strategy and delegate what needs to be done to my team, with strict instructions for them to follow up with me when they are done with their tasks." (Valamis.com, 2021) 2. "Gather my team for a planning session. I will listen to everyone's opinion, work with the team to plan the best response, and then all get to work handling the crisis." (Valamis.com, 2021) 3. I leave it to my team to handle this. They are professionals and know what needs to be done. I will check in with them after to review how it was taken and give feedback. " (Valamis.com, 2021) Here, we have provided a scenario to the candidate and asked how they would respond to it. If their answer is similar or holds resemblance with one of these statements, then they can be classified as 1. Autocratic 2. Democratic
3. Laissez-faire QUESTION 2: There is an important project that you need to plan. How do you go about doing that? (Valamis.com, 2021) Probable Answers: 1. “I will gather my team, give them all the information they need, and let them get to work. I will conduct regular and strict follow-ups to keep the progress is in check." (Valamis.com, 2021) 2. "I inform staff of the new project and assign all roles, milestones, objectives and timelines. When designing the project, I will take suggestions from the team and infuse the plan with some of these suggestions if they get votes from the team or see them as simply beneficial or better." (Valamis.com, 2021) 3. "I will meet with key employees, work with them to outline various plans for the project and set an objective. I will then allow the team to function as they may not interfere as I consider them knowledgeable and motivated to work in their departments. " (Valamis.com, 2021) Here, just like the previous question, we have provided the candidate with a scenario but infused the probable answers with a blend of 2 different management styles . This can be used to determine a candidate's type better. 1. Blend of Laissez-faire and Autocratic 2. Blend of Autocratic and Democratic

3. Blend of Democratic and Laissez-faire QUESTIONS 3 AND 4: NOTE: Questions 3 and 4 have been designed as quick close-ended questions if the questionnaire needs to be cut down on duration . Which of the following qualities is most important for your team to have? 1. Diligence 2. Innovative 3. Cooperative (Valamis.com, 2021) What qualities do you not want your team members to have? (Valamis.com, 2021) 1. Undisciplined 2. Unskilled 3. Not a Team Player For Questions 3 and 4 , The implication of an answer would be categorized as: 1. Autocratic
2. Laissez-faire 3. Democratic QUESTION 5: Write about a time you let an employee go. Example Answer: “Nobody likes firing people, but there are times and situations when it just must happen. One summer, I was working as a supervisor for a local pool. We had a lifeguard who was consistently late to the job. As his supervisor, it fell to me to talk to him about this situation. I pulled him aside on three occasions and spoke with him about why he was late, how that was a violation of the company policy, and how the fourth time would be grounds for his dismissal. I made sure to keep the HR team involved with every step and adequately document each meeting. Unfortunately, he was tardy a fourth time, and I had to let him know that he was being terminated. It was not an easy task, but it had to be done. " (Mike Simpson, 2021) Please Note: Highly Open-ended Questions are subjective and can include a wide array of answers. The above example can be regarded as a benchmark for a solution that can be considered above average.
The above example covers all the appropriate steps that need to be taken by a manager to exercise authority over incompetent team members. QUESTION 6: Give an example of a tough decision you had to make. Example Answer: “When making professional decisions, I like to keep in mind the good of the company before I consider personal feelings. "A few years ago, I was in a situation where I was responsible for hiring a new team member for a large project we were working on. I had managed to narrow the selection down to two candidates; a new hire who was perfect for the job and another established employee who was not quite the right fit for the position but whom I considered a personal friend." "While I would have loved to hire my friend, it would not have been the right choice for the company, so I hired the new employee. When my friend asked me why I had made that decision, I explained it to him. We discussed other opportunities that he would be a better fit for." "At the time, it was not an easy decision, but it was the right one and one I would make again. " (Mike Simpson, 2021) Just like Question 5, This question can give us a variety of answers. What we need to look for is that the example stated by the candidate is one that, in the end, favors the organization that they are employed for.
