What negative effects might it have on the company and the employees? The negative effects of a job-sharing plan on the company include the lack of loyalty that part-time employees may have to the company and the potential for decreased productivity. For employees, the lack of benefits and job security that full-time employment provides can be a disadvantage. Additionally, morale may decrease when some employees are given full-time positions, and others are not. Is job sharing better for some positions in a department than for others? Additionally, jobs requiring excellent customer service or interaction may benefit more from full-time employees.
