Exploring motivation and conflict management strategies will assist you, as a  health care manager , to build a foundation which you’ll use throughout your health care career. Respond to the following: Explain which motivation method works best for you. Why might that same method not work for your colleagues? Provide an example. Describe the strategy you think is best for conflict management. Provide an example.  .
The motivation method that works for me is good work being noticed and being positive in the workplace. I have been in several work environments where employees everyday were saying very negative things about the job and the work that needed to be done and this was being said by managers as well, I have learned this creates a very toxic work environment. I have also worked several jobs where your work was never noticed, you were never told if you were doing a good job or needed to improve you just never knew. I think noticing what tasks employees do well makes them feel more confident in there work and this leads to a positive work environment. Coming in each day with a positive attitude towards your job your employees see this, and I feel it will make the work environment better.  Conflict management will depend on the situation that arises. Communication is a good way to get the facts about what happened or what the problem is currently. You want to listen to each side of a story and never assume anything about the issue. Your goal as a manger will be to resolve these conflicts before they escalate into something bigger. My last job had a lot of conflict between employees, there was management, but they didn’t work in the room where we all worked as that is how the unit was set up, the managers would come in and round and ask if anyone needed anything. With this a lot of issues would arise with other employees leading to arguments. Managers were told but nothing ever got done until it became a much bigger issue. I feel if the problems would have been addressed properly it would have prevented arguments.
