The nine competitive priorities discussed all relate to bringing success to a company, but wanting to be outstanding in all of the priorities is impractical. When using these priorities in hopes of having a successful company, I believe focusing on only a couple of them will be the most efficient and attainable. Having an emphasis on a few priorities will help to strengthen a company's position in a specific area and help to have a clear and concise strategy. Kathleen Lawson, a business strategist from Babson College, says that, "If you try to focus on a bunch of different goals at once, you can’t give each goal the attention it requires to actually achieve that goal," (Lawson, 2023). When choosing the right competitive priority to focus on, it should be one that strategically aligns to promote your strengths and overall focus. Each company will have a different reasoning for choosing a specific priority, so it is not just a simple pick and choose scenario. If a certain company wants to gain more of a competitive advantage against other companies in the industry, they could focus on the competitive analysis priority. This will help the organization understand their competition's strengths and weaknesses which will help them find new areas to excel in. An organization within the same industry could have a completely different focus and strategy, so they will have to choose a competitive priority that fits their business needs. By strategically selecting competitive priorities to align with your organization's goals, many factors will have to be taken into consideration to bring overall success. Reference Lawson, K.
