Opportunities to resolve the matter through conciliation Abby and Jamilah (see Project 2) have agreed to participate in a Conciliation Hearing to attempt to resolve the dispute. In the space below prepare a case statement for the conciliator. Your case statement should include: summary of your case desired remedies reference to relevant legislation or lease clause you are relying on summary of evidence areas of you think conciliation can be made, giving the reasons for your position ASSESSOR USE ONLY S NS

Conciliation You are to undertake a role play simulating a conciliation prior to the Tribunal hearing, in order to try and obtain a settlement. Discuss the requirements of this role play with your assessor. Your assessor will take on the role of the conciliator; you will need another participant to take on the role of the tenant. This may be a class or work colleague or other person agreed to by the assessor. Using the case statement that you prepared in Project 2, participate in a conciliation session with the tenant. During the role play your assessor will be observing your ability to: (i) disclose documented evidence (ii) clearly explain the tenants’ obligations (iii) ask questions and clarify information (iv) act in a fair and ethical manner (v) assess offers from the tenant for solution (vi) record information during the conciliation ASSESSOR USE ONLY S NS
