You must provide your responses in your own words. You can refer to the Learner Guide or other sources, but you are not allowed to copy sentences and/or paragraphs directly from these sources. If your responses found to have been copied directly from learner guide or other sources, your result for this task will be Not Satisfactory. •
You will complete this task at home in your own time. •
You must submit evidence as per the ‘Evidence Submission Checklist’ by the due date. Scenario You are the Administration Assistant for Bags About Town (refer to Appendix 1 – Bags About Town Case Study Scenario), a handbag manufacturer. You have been asked to arrange a meeting for the
next month’s directors meeting. Before answering the below questions, you need read the case study scenario information and decide the purpose and type of the meeting you will arrange. The below questions cover the types of meetings, legal and ethical requirements that impact on meetings, and requirements of meetings.
Questions 15. Provide an explanation of the meeting terms ‘Motions’ and ‘Resolutions’ A motion is a proposal that is put before a meeting for discussion and a decision. If a motion is passed it becomes a resolution. Resolutions are binding and should be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
An association’s rules will outline how motions should be dealt with. It is best practice for motions to be placed on the agenda so members have adequate time to consider them before the meeting.
