Aviation Safety Environment 2 Introduction The aviation safety environment around Fixed Based Operators is crucial for maintaining the highest level of safety and security in the aviation industry. Fixed Based Operators play a critical role in servicing and accommodating private and general aviation aircraft and some operations with bigger aircraft like jets. Therefore, it is essential for FBOs to adhere to the rules and regulations established by aviation authorities to protect security, safety, and privacy. This includes implementing effective security measures, such as access control systems, surveillance cameras, and background checks for personnel (Price & Forrest, 2016). FBOs should have clear procedures and protocols in place to ensure compliance with regulations and to address continued operational safety. They should also prioritize human factors considerations, such as training and fatigue management, to support high levels of human-system performance. Furthermore, FBOs should maintain open communication and cooperation with regulatory agencies to stay updated on any changes or updates to aviation security measures. By doing so, FBOs can contribute to the overall goal of maintaining a safe and secure aviation environment for all stakeholders involved.
