Module 1 Mastery Assessment Lab
Introduction
This is an assessment of a student’s knowledge of the Module’s
material.
Objectives
In this lab the student will:
●
Install Windows Server 2022 in a Virtual Machine using the Desktop Experience
Standard Edition.
●
Install Windows 11 (or 10) in a virtual machine.
Resources Needed
●
Computer with Internet access
●
VMWare Workstation Pro
●
Windows Server Standard ISO file
●
Windows 11 (or 10) ISO file
Assignment

Install Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11 (or 10) as Virtual Machines.
➔
There are three phases to this assignment

Part 1: Install the assigned version of Windows Server into a VM.

Part 2: Install the assigned version of Windows Client into a VM.

Part 3: Submit the required screenshots.
Refer to the grading rubric at the
end of this document before beginning this assessment.
Procedure
Part 1: Install the GUI version of Windows Server 2022 Standard Edition.
1.
Create an 80GB volume for the installation partition.
2.
Set the Administrator password to
Password1
.
3.
Rename the server to
TXServerXX
(where
XX
is your initials.)
4.
Statically assign the following:
IP Address: 172.20.0.10
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 172.20.0.10
(Leave the Default Gateway blank)
5.
Set the Time Zone to Central Time US & Canada).
Part 2: Install Windows 11 (or 10).
1.
Create an 80GB volume for the installation partition.
2.
Set the Administrator password to

3.
Rename the client to
TXClientXX
(where
XX
is your initials.)
4.
Statically assign the following:
IP Address: 172.20.0.40
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 172.20.0.10
(Leave the Default Gateway blank)
5.
Set the Time Zone to Central Time US & Canada).
Part 3: Submit the following screenshots as proof that you have successfully
completed this Performance Assessment.
You may also submit them in a
single word document.
Minimize errors in grading by naming the files or
images for what they are.

On the Server:
1.
Type
whoami
at the command prompt and take a screenshot.
2.
Document the windows version with the
winver
command at the command line.
Take a screenshot.

At the command prompt, type
ipconfig /all
.
Make sure IP address, subnet mask,
and DNS are visible.
Take a screenshot.
4.
Ping the client from the server and take a screenshot of the result.
5.
Type
arp
–
a
on the Server and take a screenshot of the response.
On the Windows 11 (or 10) Client:
