According to the video, what are some vulnerabilities specific to undocumented,
immigrant women, with respect to IPV? Name and explain 4 vulnerabilities.
Four vulnerabilities that immigrant women may encounter are:
-Language barriers: Many women may encounter language barriers which would hinder
their aboloitied to communicate about what they are encountering and this can also
prevent them from being able to / wanting to seek assistance. This can also make it
harder for them to navigate the legal system.
-economic dependency: Many of the women depend on the financial support from their
abusers. This can make it harder for them to want to leave the partner and seek help.
-lack of social support: Many imigrant women move to the US by themselves or with
their partner (abuset) ,many might not have any family in their new country that can
support them , which makes it harder for them to leave their abuser.
Fear of deportation; Like we saw in the video , manu of the women were threatened by
their partner with deportation. So fear of deportation is a big vulnerability.

Why does IPV for undocumented, immigrant women tend to fly “under the
radar?”
IPV for undocumented women tends to fly under the radar because the women who are
being abused believe they dont have certain rights and most of the time they are
threatened by their partners. They sometimes fear their husbands have control over
them and they also often face language barriers,
