Creating a Multilevel List
Dr. McCartney’s wife has been involved in growing orchids for a very long time. She is now planning on giving a seminar on the growing and maintenance of orchids. Dr. McCartney has requested that you apply your multilevel skills from MS Word to create the outline below. Type the list on page 2 without any bullets or tabs/indents. After typing the entire list, select the list. Use the Multilevel List icon to define a new multilevel list by applying the settings listed below to each level from the “Click level to modify” section:
Level 1:
Enter formatting for number – use a period after number or letter. Remove all parentheses symbols
Font: Times New Roman
Number style: Roman Numeral
Number aligment: Left
Aligned at: 0”
Text Indent: 0.25”
Level 2:
Enter formatting for number – Same as Level 1
Font: Times New Roman
Number style: Capital Letters
Number aligment: Left
Aligned at: 0.25”
Text Indent: 0.50”
Level 3:
Enter formatting for number – Same as Level 1
Font: Times New Roman
Number style: Arabic Numbers
Number aligment: Left
Aligned at: 0.50”
Text Indent: 0.75”
Level 4:
Enter formatting for number – Same as Level 1
Font: Times New Roman
Number style: lower case letters
Number aligment: Left
Aligned at: 0.75”
Text Indent: 1”
Click OK button, and then use the Increase Indent icon to appropriately change the level of each item in the list. The results should look just like the example below. Experiment with the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent tools! Check all of your list levels and make any corrections necessary. Use correct format for headers and footers. Save a copy as a PDF and upload via Canvas.
