Two different database solutions I choose was NoSQL database for social media analytics and Relational database management system for E-commerce company. The NoSQL database for social media analytics business requirement is as follows; a social media analytics business requires to store and process large amounts of unstructured data for example; posts, images, and achieve real time analytics to track tenedencies amid distinctive social media platforms. The database solution for NoSQL database is created to unstructured
or semi-structured data and also they are simply scaled horizontally to provide large amounts
of data and high velocity writes and reads (Dezyre, 2015).
The Relational database management system for E-commerce Company business requirement needs a database solution that can proficienctly handly large amounts of structured data, support complex queries, make sure the data privacy, and facilitate transactions between consumers, products, and orders (Lim, 2020). The database solution of RDMS such as MySQL is a great choice for this scenario. They are good for handling structured data and is commonly used in several e-commerce platforms because of their ability to enforce data consistency and reliability.

There are several ways redundant data can cause poor decision making. One of those ways is amplified storage and maintenance costs. When storing duplicate data devours extra storage space, which ultimately leads to amplified infrastructure costs. Another way is data discrepancy, as changes are made to 1 copy of the data might not be reproduced in other duplicates. Lastly, rebundant data can produce unreliable data problems and incompetenent data analysis, causing it to be more complexed and time consuming.
There are various attributes that are well known across databases storing medical, student, and fitness club data, but they all wouldn’t be the same. The ach database has a different purpose and consists of data that is relevant to it’s domain. So, the Medical database attributes would contain diagnosis, medical history, medications, allergies, insurance info, and treatments. The medical database attributes are vital for medical staff to provide the accurate healthcare. The Student database attributes would contain students name and ID, enrollment status, courses, grades, attendance, and advisors. The Student database attributes are vital for
educational records and progress. The Fitness club database attributes would contain the 3

members name and info, their membership status, level status, personal trainers, and progress. The Fitness club database attributes assist in managing memberships.
Privacy policies in schools and colleges objective is to protect the personal information of the students, employee, and stakeholders. The privacy policies contain these requirements and they are as follows; data protection and encryption, data retention and disposal, access control and authentication, and compliance with regulations. The data protection and encryption protects sensitive data, records, financial info, and so forth. The data retention and disposal makes sure that info isn’t retained for a certain length of time and is diposed of safely. The access control and authentication restricts access to sensitive data for authorized user only. They may use a multi-factor authentication for more security. The compliance with regulations is used to make sure compliance with sensitive data protections regulations is enforced to protect the students records and so forth.
Colleges and Universities need to protect various mission-critical applications. One of those mission-critical applications is the Learning Management System also known as LMS. The LMS is a software application or web-based technology utilized to plan, employ 4

and review a certain learning process (Kirvan, Brush, 2023). LMS is vital for delivering the content in the courses, maintaining assignments, managing assessments, and assisting online interactions amongst the instructors and students. Another mission-critical application is the Student Information System also known as SIS. The SIS maintains and stores vital student data, which include grades, enrollment, transcripts, schedules, and progress. The Financial Management System is also mission-
critical application. The Financial Management System manages the budgeting and any financial transactions made from and or for the University or College, making sure all finances are managed accurately.
Another mission-critical application is the Human Resources Management System also known as HRMS. The human resources management system is a set of software applications used to maintain human resources and correlated processes through the employees lifecycle (Holliday, 2020). The HRM, manages the payroll, benefits, and employee personal information.

The last two mission-critical applications that I will be discussing it the Research and Collanoration Platforms and Library Management System. The Research and Collaboration Platforms is designed to provide the research academically, collaboration between the staff and students, and comprehending distributions. The Library Management System is vital for
maintain the Universities library resources this consists of book cataloging and materials. It is crucial for Universities and Colleges to protect these mission-critical applications to make sure accurate functioning of the educational universities, securing data, and managing the property of all educational services provided.
To conclude, it is very important to protect these mission-critical applications. You must make sure each mission-critical application operates correctly for the universities and colleges, and is managing the privacy of their data and integrity, securing their finances for effective teaching from the instructors and learning for the students. Vigorous safety measure, access controls, data encrytption, backups and upgrades, and most of the proper training for the staff are some of the strategies to securing their systems and data.
