Jehaida Stokes Dr.Peterson Oct. 26 2023 1-2 Short Answer We have access to a wealth of information these days. We are continuously changing everything, and everyone makes modifications to it. So how can one distinguish between the real and the fake? Finding, assessing, organizing, using, and communicating information are the key components of information literacy. Particularly in the modern world, it is critical to cultivate these abilities for both academic and personal success. The NimblyWise resource ”Lifetime in the Information Age” made me realize how much more knowledge is available to us today than it was a century ago. In contrast to today, when we have instant messaging, video conversations, and the internet, people in the past would consider themselves lucky if they read 50 books in their lifetime. I also discovered that learning how to locate and utilize knowledge is much more crucial than simply learning facts by heart. Strong information literacy will benefit me in my academic and professional endeavors. Identifying reliable and accurate sources is essential while writing academic papers. I also discovered that acquiring information retrieval and application skills is now more crucial than data memorization. Strong information literacy will benefit me in my academic and professional endeavors. When writing papers, it’s important to recognize which sources are reliable and correct. My information literacy is lacking if I am unable to locate, assess, organize, utilize, and convey that knowledge in an appropriate manner.
