Hello, I'm Noah Caslin and I've chosen to take this course to gain a better understanding of the fundmentals of networking, which is essential for anyone
interested in information technology. I also believe that it's a required course while pursing a technical certificate in informatics. I think the most interesting fact about me is that I love to travel in order to better appreciate other cultures. I have circumnavigated the globe by flying to Japan, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Italy, France, and Ireland. I look forward to taking this journey of learning and growth with you all. Regards,

Hello Noah,
I can definitely see how this course is going to be an essential course for the field of IT. I never realized how many layers to networking there were until just barely scratching the surface of our materials.
Japan, Hong Kong, and Turkey are on my list of places that I would still
love to visit. I've been very lucky to get to travel to Italy, France, and Ireland while I was working as a flight attendant. Which country has been your favorite so far?

I am currently working to get caught

Wilson,
Getting your certifications are a must anymore to get a job in the IT field anywhere. I used to work for a company and when something went wrong with the computers we had to call for the IT department to come out and fix the issue. We had one person that I'm not sure how they got their job, because I would have to tell them what needed done
most of the time. If the other person in the IT department was not there
they had no idea what to do. It just goes to show having the certifications does not really mean you know what you are doing. When I did not have mine but was really the one fixing the issues. But companies anymore require them.

Hi, My name is Mi Meh. I am currently an informatics major, I haven't decided if I want to go through the health or business route yet. Before choosing this major, I wanted to go into nursing, so I'm leaning more toward health informatics. I am 19 year old, turning 20 in March. I live in a small town near the edge of Michigan and am currently working as a waitress. I'm taking this course as part of my course requirement. This is my first fully online class at Ivy Tech, mainly because my work schedule fits better taking online classes instead of in person. I hope to do well in this class!

I am in the health side because I am working at a hospital and my main goal is to get promoted to do maintenance on the computers. I am doing online classes for mostly the same reason because I work 40 hours a week and don't want to work for more than 9 hours in a day.

Hello everyone, my name is Shane Miller. I just turned 27, and this is my first time being enrolled in any classes beyond high school. I chose to go this route as I've always loved playing video games since I was a kid, which is definitely what started my interest in computers. Along with that came the moments when things didn't always work. From a young age, I was always trying to troubleshoot and fix various electronics and gaming devices around my house. It only seems right that I go into a profession dealing hardware and
the internet. And a fun fact about me is I'm an aspiring punk rock musician that loves to play guitar and sing!

Good evening, Shane.
This is my first time taking the course too. It has not looked too difficult yet but that might be because I am familiar with most of the concepts? Most of my knowledge about electronics has come from things like you
did such as troubleshooting devices. It is cool that your a punk rock musician, I hope you success and that your aspirations only grow.
