Reflection Questions After you have completed the procedure for the guided practice, provide your answers to the reflection questions here. What purpose does an internet gateway serve in a VPC? An internet gateway provides a target in your VPC route tables for internet-routable traffic. For communication using IPv4, the internet gateway also performs network address translation (NAT). For communication using IPv6, NAT is not needed because IPv6 addresses are public. How do you control inbound and outbound traffic in a VPC? Security groups allow or deny specific inbound and outbound traffic at the resource level (such as an EC2 instance). When you launch an instance, you can associate it with one or more security groups. Each instance in your VPC could belong to a different set of security groups.
Open the Amazon VPC console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/vpc/ . In the navigation pane, choose Security Groups. Select the security group. Choose Actions, and then choose Edit inbound rules to remove an inbound rule or Edit outbound rules to remove an outbound rule.
