Identify a problem-solving technique or method you have used in a previous situation and explain how it helped you. How might problem-solving methods be different in diverse cultures or fields of work? How can effective problem-solving help you in your academic journey? One problem-solving technique that I have used In the past is the Six Thinking Hats method. This method involves looking at a problem from six different perspectives, each represented by a different colored “hat,” such as the white hat for facts and information, the red hat for emotions and feelings, and the green hat for creative ideas. By approaching the problem from multiple angles, this method helps to generate more well-rounded and effective solutions. Problem- solving methods can certainly differ across cultures and fields of work. For example, some cultures may prioritize group consensus and collaboration in problem-solving, while others may value individual decision-making and autonomy. Similarly, problem-solving methods in a creative field like art may differ from those in a technical field like engineering. Effective problem-solving can be a valuable asset in my academic journey. Whether it's tackling a difficult homework assignment or navigating a complex research project, the ability to approach problems with a clear and logical mindset can help me break down the problem into manageable pieces and generate effective solutions. Additionally, being able to communicate my problem-solving process and solutions effectively can be a valuable skill in academic settings and beyond. 2. Identify your learning style and explain how knowing/learning about your learning style helped support your success throughout this course. My two learning styles are visual and kinesthetic. As a visual learner, my ability to process information better through visual aids such as diagrams, charts, graphs, images, and videos helps me to retain information more effectively, make connections between different ideas more easily, and understand complex topics more easily. By leveraging my strengths as a visual learner, I can tailor my study strategies and techniques to better suit my needs and preferences and communicate my learning style to my instructors and peers to better achieve support. Similarly, as a kinesthetic learner, my hands-on approach to learning helps me to better grasp and retain information. By incorporating physical movement into my study routine and seeking out courses and materials that offer interactive experiences, I can maximize my potential and be successful in my courses. 3. Identify which of the five successful habits of an SNHU student have been most helpful for you throughout this course. Explain how those habits have helped you. The habits that have been most helpful to me throughout this course are using the rubric and logging in early. Using a rubric has been a helpful tool for me in several ways. First, it provides a clear set of guidelines and expectations for any given assignment or task. This helps me to eliminate any confusion or uncertainty about what is expected of me, which in turn makes it easier for me to focus on the task at hand. Second, a rubric allows me to self-assess my work before submitting it. By comparing my work to the rubric, I can identify any areas where I may have fallen short and make necessary revisions or improvements. This not only helps me to produce higher-quality work, but it also helps me to develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Finally, using a rubric has helped me to receive more constructive feedback from
my teachers. Because the rubric provides a clear set of criteria by which my work is being evaluated, I can receive more specific and helpful feedback that is focused on areas where I can improve. This feedback has helped me to grow and develop my skills, which has been invaluable in both my academic and professional pursuits. Logging in early has been an essential habit for me in many ways. It has allowed me to stay up to date with the course material and assignments. By logging in early and regularly, I can ensure that I am aware of any new assignments or announcements, which has helped me to stay organized and on top of my work. It has also allowed me to participate more fully in course discussions. By being present and engaged in the online platform, I can ask questions, offer my insights, and connect with my classmates and instructor. This has led me to feel more connected to the course and has enriched my learning experience. Logging in early has allowed me to take advantage of any resources or support services that are available to me. By offering virtual office hours, online tutoring, and other resources, I can easily access all the things I need to aid me in my academic career. By logging in early, I can take advantage of all the resources and get the help I need to succeed in the course. Finally, this has allowed me to build a sense of community and accountability with my classmates and instructor. By being -present and engaged in online discussions, I have established connections and relationships that could be valuable throughout the course and beyond. Overall, the habit of logging in early has been an effective strategy for in me in this course, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay organized, engaged, and connected in their online course. 4. Explain how you will stay on track in your courses and overcome interruptions that may impact your schedule. Staying on track in my courses requires effective time management and planning. One way I can stay organized is to create a schedule or a to-do list that includes all of my tasks, deadlines, and priorities. This will help me visualize my workload and avoid procrastination. Interruptions can impact my schedule but it's important for me to stay flexible and adapt to changes. One way to overcome interruptions is to prioritize my tasks and focus on the most important ones. Knowing that I will experience unexpected interruptions, I am prepared to make up for lost time by working during other available time slots or adjusting my schedule accordingly. Another way to stay on track is to avoid distractions. This could mean finding a quiet study space, disconnecting from social media, or turning off my phone during study sessions. By minimizing distractions, I can focus on my coursework and complete tasks efficiently. Finally, seeking help from my instructors or peers can also help me stay on track. If I begin struggling with a particular assignment or concept, I know to not hesitate to reach out for assistance. My instructors or peers may have insights or perspectives that can help me to overcome challenges and stay focused. 5. Choose two SNHU resources (departments and resources that are part of SNHU) and two social supports (people, places, and things outside of SNHU) that will help the most with achieving your mission and goals, and that will help you prioritize your time. Also indicate why these resources and social supports are key for your success. Academic Advisors Academic advisors can help me stay on track with my coursework, provide guidance on selecting classes and majors that align with my interests and aspirations, and offer support and resources to overcome any obstacles that I may encounter. By working closely with them, I can develop a personalized plan for academic success that takes into account my unique strengths, weaknesses, and goals. This plan can help me stay focused and motivated, while also ensuring that I am making progress towards my degree. My academic advisor can help me navigate the many resources available to me at SNHU, from tutoring services to study groups to career counseling. By tapping into these

By engaging with my personal network, I can take advantage of opportunities to recharge and unwind, which can enable me to approach my personal and professional pursuits with renewed energy and focus. Ultimately, maintaining a healthy balance can promote overall well-being and enhance productivity in various aspects of my life. Professional Networks Joining professional organizations or online communities related to your field of study is an absolute must. Setting goals is an important step in achieving success on my academic journey. Goals provide direction and purpose and can help me to stay motivated and focused throughout my studies. By setting goals, I can identify what I want to achieve, and create a plan for how to get there. This process can help to prioritize my efforts, manage my time more effectively, and make progress toward my objectives. Additionally, setting goals can help to measure my progress and celebrate my achievements along the way, providing a sense of accomplishment and momentum to keep me moving forward. Importantly, setting goals can also help to identify potential obstacles or challenges, and develop strategies for overcoming them. Overall, the process of setting goals can be a powerful tool for personal and academic growth and can help to achieve success both in the short and long term. 9. Explain how you are going to stay motivated to achieve your goals and mission statement, based on what you have learned in SNHU 107. Maintaining motivation to achieve my goals and mission statement can be a challenge, but I have learned in this course, SNHU 107, that there are effective strategies that can help. Clearly define my goals and mission statement. Be specific about what I want to achieve and write it down. This will help keep me focused and motivated. Break down my goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. Tackling big goals can be overwhelming but breaking them down into smaller tasks can help to stay focused and make progress. Celebrate my progress. Take time to acknowledge and celebrate my accomplishments, no matter how small. This can help to build momentum. Surround myself with supportive and positive people. Having a strong support system can be a powerful motivator. I will seek out friends, family, or colleagues who can offer positive feedback and encouragement. Stay organized and track my progress. Use tools like calendars, to-do lists, and progress trackers to help me stay on track. Seeing my progress can help keep me moving forward. Stay positive and focused on the end goal. When things don’t go as planned, it can be easy to get discouraged. Staying positive, keeping my eye on the end goal, and reminding myself why my goals and mission statement are important to me, will all contribute to my motivation. In the end, I must remember staying motivated is a journey, not a destination. By incorporating these strategies that I have learned throughout this course into my routine, I can stay focused and motivated and achieve my goals and mission statement. 10. Explain why an awareness of diversity is beneficial to giving and receiving feedback when collaborating with others. An awareness of diversity is crucial when giving and receiving feedback while collaborating with others. Diversity refers to the differences and uniqueness in individuals based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, culture, religion, and background among others. When collaborating with others, it is important to recognize and respect these differences as they can influence communication styles, values, and perspectives. By being aware of diversity, you can tailor your feedback to be more impactful and relevant to the other person receiving it. For example, some individuals may prefer a more indirect approach. By being aware of these differences, you can ensure that your feedback is delivered in a way that is most effective for the recipient. Additionally, an awareness of diversity can help to avoid any unconscious biases or assumptions that may
influence your feedback. By acknowledging and respecting the diversity of others, you can create a more inclusive and supportive environment that allows for open and honest feedback. This can lead to better communication, increased productivity, and greater collaboration among team members. Ultimately, being aware of diversity is essential for effective feedback giving and receiving and can help to create a more positive and productive collaborative environment. 11. Explain why it is important to take ownership, be vulnerable, ask for help, and have an open mind to achieve your goals. Taking ownership of your actions and decisions is important because it gives you control over your life. When you take responsibility for your choices and the outcomes, you are more likely to learn from your mistakes and make better decisions in the future. Being vulnerable is also crucial because it allows you to connect with others on a deeper level and build stronger relationships. When you let down your guard and show your true self, others are more likely to trust and support you. Asking for help is also important because no one can achieve their goals alone. Everyone needs support and guidance at times, and it takes strength to admit that you need help. By reaching out to others, you can gain new perspectives, learn new skills, and overcome challenges more easily. Having an open mind is also essential to achieving your goals. When you are open to new ideas and perspectives, you are more likely to find creative solutions to problems and make progress towards your objectives. Being closed-minded can limit your potential and prevent you from seeing opportunities that are right in front of you. 12. Explain what your biggest takeaway was from this course. My biggest takeaway from this course is the importance of time management and effective communication. It highlighted the significance of using clear and concise communication methods, such as email and discussion forums, to interact with peers and instructors. Also, this course emphasized how important active learning and engagement can be which encouraged me to take an active role in my learning and to seek out additional resources when needed. Overall, this course provided me with valuable insights and strategies that I can apply to my future online learning experiences.
