Identify a problem-solving technique or method you have used in a previous situation and explain how it helped you. How might problem-solving methods be different in diverse cultures or fields of work? How can effective problem-solving help you in your academic journey? ● A problem-solving technique that I use is decision-making. Throughout my life I have had to make a lot of decisions to become the person I am today in cultures some don't accept others for who they are, it could be their sexuality or beliefs. In order for me to be accepted in that environment, I had to respect other's beliefs. 2. Identify your learning style and explain how knowing/learning about your learning style helped support your success throughout this course. ● The read/write learning style allowed me to understand the topic at a better stance, as well as being able to review the information for the assignment. 3. Identify which of the five successful habits of an SNHU student have been most helpful for you throughout this course. Explain how those habits have helped you. ● 1. Engage often ● 2. Log in Early ● 3. Submit all assignments ● 4. Use the rubric ● 5. Reach out for help These habits will help me maintain my time management as well as be productive with my assignments for all courses I am enrolled in. 4. Explain how you will stay on track in your courses and overcome interruptions that may impact your schedule. ● I will stay on track in my courses by going to a quiet room and putting on noise-isolation headphones. And focus on my courses, if anything tries to interrupt my schedule I will reschedule for another time that is inconvenient for me. 5. Choose two SNHU resources (departments and resources that are part of SNHU) and two social supports (people, places, and things outside of SNHU) that will help the most with achieving your mission and goals, and that will help you prioritize your time. Also indicate why these resources and social supports are key for your success. ● Written Feedback ● Receiving written feedback will allow me to correct my assignment and go over the information, to make sure that I have corrected any grammar misspelling of words. Also,

this will allow me to have a better understanding of the topic. ● The 24/7 drop-in tutoring will allow me to have an assistant on my assignment and have a better explanation. ● To be able to have access to the 24/7 drop-in tutoring will allow me to acknowledge needing help when I don't understand a question about the assignment. ● My significant other ● My girlfriend is always making sure I am doing my homework no matter how busy my schedule is, she would always ask me. “ Have you done your assignments or discussions” or “Have you finished doing this or that” when it comes to me telling her my goals. ● Local Library ● If it gets nosey in the house, I will go to the library to do my assignments so that I can focus 6. List your personal academic mission statement. My major is psychology and counseling, I chose this major because I want others to do better in life and improve who they are I am enrolled in the year 2023 and will want to complete my degree in 2027. ● The type of career I would like to have is counseling, while enrolled in SNHU I would like to understand my major more. ● To have my degree will prove to those who encourage me that I can be somebody no matter what others say also, this would make my family friends, and stepchildren proud because I accomplished a big step. 7. List your THREE short-term academic goals. ● Time management ● Maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA ● Graduate 8. Describe the importance of setting goals on your academic journey. ● It is important to set goals for my academic journey. So that I can stay on track and understand what goals I have set to allow me to be a successful student. 9. Explain how you are going to stay motivated to achieve your goals and mission statement, based on what you have learned in SNHU 107. ● Staying motivated in SNHU 107 will allow me to keep the same goals and mission statement that I have made for myself, as well as be determined to ask for help if needed. In order for me to understand my major, I have to take different courses that will allow me to learn more about my career of choice. 10. Explain why an awareness of diversity is beneficial to giving and receiving feedback when collaborating with others.

● It is beneficial to both parties because you have to respect other's opinions, and beliefs even when you don't agree you should not respond in a rude manner, be respectful to them. 11. Explain why it is important to take ownership, be vulnerable, ask for help, and have an open mind to achieve your goals. ● It is important to take ownership when you don't understand something, it is okay to be vulnerable so that those you are asking for help from will be willing to assist you with the problem. This will allow you to understand your goals more and be determined to not be afraid to ask for help 12. Explain what your biggest takeaway was from this course. ● The biggest takeaway from this course was asking for help and submitting assignments early.
