1.
Identify a problem-solving technique or method you have used in a previous situation and explain how it helped you. How might problem-solving methods be different in diverse cultures or fields of work? How can effective problem solving help you in your academic journey?
The 5 whys method. It’s a technique that you can use to ask why five times to find out the main cause of the problem. I can ask myself questions like, “ Why did I turn in my work late?” “What made me turn in my work late?” “Why did I check my assignment list late?” ”Why did I forget to write down my assignment list?” “What made me loose track of time?”
By asking myself those questions I was able to point out the root of my situation and the cause of the problem which was putting to much time into activities around me and forgetting about my school assignment. Now I can address the issue directly next time.
Problem solving methods can be different In cultures all across the globe. In individualistic cultures, such as the United States and Canada, people tend to think independently and value autonomy and self-reliance. This can lead to a more competitive and individualistic approach to problem solving, where people focus on finding the best solution for themselves rather than working together. Understanding these cultural differences in problem-solving can help individuals to better understand their own approach and the approach of others. Additionally, it could help to be aware of potential misunderstandings or conflicts that may arise from different ways of solving problem . It may also be helpful to a xxxdapt one’s approach to better align with the cultural context in which a problem is being addressed. In the work field such as computer animation, which is a field that constantly evolves and challenges its practitioners to find new ways of creating realistic, expressive, and engaging images and stories. Some of the most innovative techniques in computer animation require creative problem-solving skills, which involve generating novel and useful solutions to complex problems. In this article, we will explore some examples of how computer animators use creative problem-solving to overcome technical and artistic challenges in their work. Cultivating problem-solving skills, I can become adept at adapting to new situations and bouncing back from setbacks developing perseverance resilience, and the confidence to face challenges.
Practicing problem solving consistently, I can develop better social and situational awareness, manage time properly and develop patience.
2.
Identify your learning style and explain how knowing/learning about your learning style helped support your success throughout this course.
Visual learners, auditory learners and kinesthetic learners are some different ways people can process and learn information. These three are the that I’ve mentioned are the most common. Visual learners such as myself, learn by seeing using thing such as maps, images or graphics in order to understand information. Some people learn better by hearing information. They listen and hear information and discussions. They also may use a tape recorder so that they can go back and listen to information for understanding. The hands on approaching styles are the kinesthetic learners. They find it help to move around or use tangible items with the hands on
approach to understand new concepts.
You can tailor your study habits and techniques to align with your learning style by understanding how you process and retain information making you study efficient and effective.
Visual learners might use sticky notes or time tables as auditory learners might record a speech or presentation. Kinesthetic learners might learn better by playing a part of a presentation or play or to physically move objects themselves.
Since I’m a visual learner, it was easier to understand most of the assignments by watching videos and looking at the rubrics. Looking at some pictures and seeing some examples of an assignment helped me process and understand the directions on how to complete my task. I can
go and look at the details and process it and keep it as a photographic memory.
3.
Identify which of the five successful habits of an SNHU student have been most helpful for you throughout this course. Explain how those habits have helped you.
Use the rubric was the most helpful habit for me being a SNHU student. I could go back relook at
the highlights of a task and review the prompt. I would go back look at the rubrics over and over again for every assignment just to make sure I’m completing my work properly.
Also “strive to submit all assignments.” It’s hard for me to take care of things as a single father that has to raise a 6 year daughter, work, run a business and go to school. But she is my motivation and I have to keep pushing and I have to strive to submit my assignments no matter how late or hard it can get as long as I know I gave it everything that I have to show my daughter
that no matter what you never give up.
4.
Explain how you will stay on track in your courses and overcome interruptions that may impact your schedule.
I will stay on track the best way possible by setting time reminders in places or things that I be and use the most. For instance, I will set alarms as a timing on my phone to notify me at that time I have to be doing this. I will leave myself notes on objects in places where I spend more time so that I can see that this is what I need to be doing at this time. I will overcome more interruptions by making a schedule for things that are important and setting time for the things that I need to do away from the things I want to do. Communicating with my family and friends about my school work and how important it is for me to stay focus and how much it means to me to accomplish my goal by achieving my degree so quite time is important.
5.
Choose two SNHU resources (departments and resources that are part of SNHU) and two social supports (people, places, and things outside of SNHU) that will help the most with achieving your mission and goals, and that will help you prioritize your time. Also indicate why these resources and social supports are key for your success.
Instructor Feedback
This is because I am able to go to that section to find out how well I did and also find out
specifically what I did well and what I did wrong. That way I know what I can improve on
in the future. The instructor feedback tool in the grades section has been a really helpful
tool for my success at SNHU
24/7 Drop In Tutoring
The drop in tutoring tool will be beneficial for me in ensuring my own academic success because I have a busy schedule with working, taking care of my daughter and owning a
tattoo shop plus doing school work all at once. This tool can help me with more opportunities for success and with my schedule by using it and reaching out for guidance.
Quiet Stress-Free Environments
Going to the park or somewhere peaceful and quiet, away from distraction allows me to
sit and stay focus on what I need to do and accomplish. I can study and concentrate on school like I need to.
Family and friends
They are available to help me anytime that I need it and they can help me in many different ways. They can help me by offering feedback on my assignments, helping me by talking out some challenges. 6.
List your personal academic mission statement.
My academic personal mission statement is to get my graphic design/ web design degree to provide to myself that I knew I could do it no matter what came in my way and to be and example or role model to my daughter, showing her that anything is possible if you never give in.
7.
List your THREE short-term academic goals.
Learn how to develop my on computer software.
Graduate from SNHU
Learn everything SNHU has to offer me and take it everywhere I go in live afterwards.
8.
Describe the importance of setting goals on your academic journey.
I know where I want to be in life and I see myself getting there so it’s important to me to set goals on my way there. Having short term goals set alone the way helps me to keep pushing. I’ll know I’m getting closer to what I set for myself by achieving one goal at a time. Climbing the leader of success.
9.
Explain how you are going to stay motivated to achieve your goals and mission statement, based on what you have learned in SNHU 107.
My personal mission statement and short-term goals are able to keep me motivated and on-track towards my goals by giving me something to work towards and look forward to. This is beneficial to me because it makes it easier for me to break down my goals into simple steps that are easier to complete. Its helpful because when I set a long-term goal.
10.
Explain why an awareness of diversity is beneficial to giving and receiving feedback when collaborating with others.
Being aware of diversity is really important anytime you’re interacting with others but more when giving and receiving feedback. Recognizing diversity can help you better give feedback to someone in a way that makes sense. If you don’t understand diversity awareness you might just have issues like learning barriers and sometimes even language barriers. Understanding learning barriers might mean being aware of how they learn best (kinesthetic, auditory, and visual) this can help you try to cater to that style.
11.
Explain why it is important to take ownership, be vulnerable, ask for help, and have an open mind to achieve your goals.
It is important to me because when you are able to take ownership of your success, it allows you to understand the responsibility you have to yourself and how you can help set yourself up for success.
