Complete all parts of this template by replacing the bracketed text with your responses. Submit for grading and feedback. 1.
Identify at least two SNHU resources that will help you most in prioritizing your time and explain how using these resources will support your success. (Add bullet points if needed.)
24/7 drop-in tutoring
as a parent who frequently finds themselves completing schoolwork late at night, I have found 24/7 drop-in tutoring to be an incredibly valuable resource. The option to receive academic assistance during these hours has allowed me to make the most of the available resources and has significantly aided my return to college after a 28-year hiatus.
The written feedback
provided by the tutors has been particularly helpful in strengthening my skills in areas where I may be weaker, such as writing papers and other coursework.
2.
Identify at least two social supports (people, places, or things outside of SNHU) that will help you most in prioritizing your time, and explain how using these social supports will support your success.
(Add bullet points if needed.)
My Children
- As a mother of four children, three of whom are daughters, I take pride in serving as a role model for women's empowerment through our family's lifestyle. Recently, I have noticed the positive impact of education on my teenage daughters' lives, as their academic performance has improved significantly. It fills me with joy to hear them eagerly share their progress and achievements with me, and as a family, we revel in their successes. Seeing my Role
model moment motivates me to make schedules and routines a priority, to continue to inspire my kids, and hopefully more.
My Husband
- I am incredibly grateful for the support of my husband, who has been by my side since I was 19 years old. Despite the challenges and changes that life has thrown our way, their belief in my intelligence and ability to succeed academically has never wavered. Their constant encouragement has been a source of strength for me, and I am truly inspired by their faith in me."
3.
There is a Learning Community available in this course. This community offers you the opportunity to:
Meet virtually with classmates
Join study groups and clubs
Connect with tutors and writing coaches
Practice the skills you need to succeed
Identify two opportunities the Learning Community offers that will help you feel a sense of belonging here at SNHU and explain how they could help support your success.
Study groups and clubs
When you are struggling to understand a concept, joining a study group or club can help. By discussing the material with others who look at it from a different perspective, you may be able to learn more effectively. In addition, being part of a group can make learning more enjoyable and less isolated. It can also help you reinforce your knowledge and test your understanding by working through practice problems or discussing case studies together. Being part of a study group or club offers many benefits beyond just improving all efforts with academic performance.
tutors and writing coaches
. I am a returning student to the college world. I have not had to write a paper in over 20 years and the way papers are written now is much different than when I
was in high school. It will be of great use to have that help available as I learn to navigate writing
papers again.
4.
Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by prioritizing your time with SNHU resources, social support, and Learning Community opportunities.
I am determined to take full responsibility for my academic success by employing efficient time-
management techniques and utilizing all available resources. With these tools at my disposal, I am confident that I can achieve my goals and excel in my courses. I am grateful for the support of my peers and teachers, who are always ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever I need it. Moreover, my family is my unwavering source of encouragement and motivation, urging me to prioritize my time and stay focused on completing all weekly tasks before moving on to anything else. Together, with their guidance and support, I am optimistic about my ability to succeed academically.
