Who is Lev Vygotsky ? 1896-1934 Before we start talking about his theory in development some facts about him. ●
Lev Vygotsky is one of the many people that his theory became one of the foundations in the early childhood development in the past decades. ●
He was born in Orsah a city located in Western Russia Empire on November 17, 1896.

He attended Moscow State University where he studied
sociology, linguistics, psychology, and philosophy.

He also had a degree in Law.

What’s Vygotsky’s theory?

Vygotsky’s theory consist on social development interaction and learning the ability by the guidance of primary caregiver, other extended family member or a educator.

Also his theory is know by Theory of Sociocultural.

His theory states that the learning during the process of the social interaction helps independence for new discoveries in their development.

He also believe that during social interaction children develop beliefs and attitudes by watching their surroundings and people they spend more time with.

One thing is important in this theory is that culture is a big part of his theory and big part of every children development.

Infancy(1-12 months): Infant depends on primary caregiver to meet their needs. 2.
Early Childhood(1-3 years old): Needs are determined and met by primary caregiver but still has not master speech.

Pre-school(3-7 years old/Middle Childhood): Must of children at this stage have develop intellectual orientation.

Crisis of newborn to 1 month: Physically separated from their mother still depending on adult to meet their needs
2.
Crisis at age 1: Mute but able to be more independent by walking and starting to speak.
3.
Crisis at age 3: Child at this stage refused to acknowledge their own independence 4.
Crisis at age 7: Strategic at this stage is more difficult to manage their actions.

Why this theory?
This theory is apply in our daily life with our own children. By teaching them two languages at the same time. Also learning from two parents with different cultures, beliefs, morals, and most important values. Combining both in two one so they can be independent in both cultures. Also to respect others and be openmind to new cultures and their beliefs.
