development of revolutions, industrialization, race, or colonialism during the 19th century?

some of the other themes of the course. Here are some questions that may help you get a
start:
How did the Enlightenment shape the world of the 19

century?
What is contradictory about the Enlightenment principles?
What does some of the dynamics between the Enlightenment and your chosen
themes tell us about world history in the late 18
th
and 19
th
century?
Note:
Try not to use quotes but instead paraphrase and use proper citation.

If you choose to use a
direct quote from the readings, please analyze and develop and not simply take the place of your
own words. The objective of the assignment is for you to develop an argument and critically
analyze the course content.
