How are the stress factors in school administration similar to stresses that you
encounter in your current or past job?
Stress factors that are similar to school administration that I encounter on my current
job. Currently working as a case manager this job is highly stressful physically and
mentally because you have tasks that need to be completed by a certain time or
people are counting on you to be their savior, when sometimes you need saving and
they don’t give you the time you need to process your stressful moments or the tools
you need to able to cope with stress. Also, poor communication and low levels of
participation can make people feel powerless, frustrated, and stressed.
How might the age of a person and the size of the organization impact the level of
stress when implementing new strategies or changes? How do these factors impact
your stress?
Age can have an impact on the level of stress more older people have a low
tolerance for stress when it comes to new strategies or changes in general. Most
people are stuck in there way of doing things and when you have to learn something
new or changes in generals, can impact someone’s stress levels because you have
to relearn a tasks that you have already trained your mind on how to do. The size of
the organization also plays a part in how we are able conduct business and
implement new changes, when you have a larger company making a change can be
stressful because you are trying to make everyone aware of the change and make
sure they succeed by following the new strategies.
What are some coping strategies or skills recommended and how would you use
these in your situations?
One way to cope with stress is keeping yourself healthy makes you more resilient in the
face of stress and stress-related health problems. Use relaxation techniques, eat well,
exercise, and get enough sleep. [ CITATION Den18 \l 1033 ]. Fight back by being
physically rested, well nourished, and healthy. The way I would use this during my
stressful situations, I had to train myself it’s a cut of time for me to work as a case
manager this job can be 24 hours if you let it, but when I’m done for the day I cut off my
work phone and power off my work computer, make sure I eat and nice meal and relax
and watch tv because this job can be mentally draining.
