Milestone one
I would like to discuss the importance of an amenable mortality rate
in the United States. The
point of this is to track the mortality rate due to causes of death before age 75. However things
like this are something that should not exist in a well-functioning health system (2014). This can
be by deaths of diseases for example diseases like
diabetes and appendicitis. These are things
that are potentially preventable given successful and timely health care or treatment.
The bigger picture of this issue is that there is not enough awareness and follow up.
Insufficient awareness and follow-up are key factors in this issue. Although it is impossible to
cover all healthcare organizations in the United States with favorable mortality rates, I will focus
on discussing the largest healthcare organization in the country. HCA, also known as the Hospital
Corporation of America, is a leading provider of healthcare services in the nation. It operates 186
hospitals and over 2,000 sites of care, including surgery centers, freestanding ERs, urgent care
centers, diagnostic and imaging centers, walk-in clinics, and physician clinics across 21 states
(2019). While my discussion pertains to the overall situation in the United States and the issue of
amenable mortality rates, I will use HCA as a vessel and a strategic example to illustrate the
importance of spreading knowledge and implementing effective awareness and follow-up
initiatives.
I selected this subject due to its significant yet subtle impact, making it a formidable
force. Certain factors contributing to the mortality rate can be attributed to genetics or heredity,
meaning early detection and proper care could have prevented it. In cases where prevention is
not possible, it could still provide a peaceful ending for the affected families or individuals.
Whether it is genetically linked or not, timely intervention could have averted the situation. This
topic offers individuals the opportunity to fight if they choose to do so. I believe this subject
offers various perspectives and holds immense potential when compared to future milestones. It
not only presents an intriguing strategic plan but also instills hope in numerous individuals.
