How do you define the oppression of women?
I would define oppression of women by saying that it is discrimincation and biase to one race and gender. I also believe that oppression of women is unfair treatment of a women solely based on the gender and nothing else.Women are often looked down apon. Even in today women are looked down apon. Some countries and some jobs oppressed women and do not believe in women and how ablitity our textbook said it best by saying that" awareness of unjust treatment of women by the surrounding environment that enforces an often stifling and oppressive system of sex-role differentiation". One article
looked at oppession of women to be " gende-based dicrimincation and harassment that women experience in the workplace affect their physical and mental health, as well as their economic opportunities".
How might you apply the empowerment framework in working with Jean or other female clients?
I think that femaes like Jean and other female client need to feel empowered need to feel like they can do it. They need the drive and the motivation . Jean needs better Enviorment to help her make the best decision. In order for Jean to make the best decision for her family she needs to be in the right enviorment with the right coping skills. What are the key issues to consider when working with women?
When working with women we have to think about the oppession that they go through and still going through the struggle if it is in the work place or even at home. Even when looking at history and different
culturals women til this day are being oppressed on and not treat right. reference Appleby, G. A., Colon, E., & Hamilton, J. (2010). Diversity, Oppression, and Social Functioning: Person-In-
