Canadian Nutrient File https://food-nutrition.canada.ca/cnf-fce/index-eng.jsp Using Food Composition Tables Using data from the database, look up the nutrient values and fill in the appropriate blanks to help you answer the questions (make sure you read the food descriptions carefully and choose the exact entries indicated and amounts ). How to use the Nutrient File: 1. Search Criteria , choose Food Name . Click Food Search . 2. Click on the Food Code that matches. 3. Check off the unit of measure that matches. AND unclick the 100 g that is automatically checked off at the top. 4. Click Generate nutrient profile . 5. Scroll down to the desired nutrient you are looking for. Potassium will be before Vitamin C. 6. Look to the columns to the right to see your values. 7. Click on New search at top of the page to change to a new food. NOTE: Ensure the correct measure of food (e.g. 1/2 cup) as well as the correct mg or other units of measure. NOTE: Assignment has 2 pages to fill in and submit.
