Good digital citizenship is a standard good practice of rules and responsibilities for all who use the internet.
What does digital citizenship look like at the elementary school?
At this age students are still learning how to get onto the internet and grasping that the internet is attached to the real world.
What does digital citizenship look like in middle school and high school?
At this age students become more active on the internet and need to understand the importance of privacy and rules.
DIGITAL SECURITY AND CIVILITY
Digital security and civility are important for all ages and should always be taken seriously
Students k-12 should be taught about:
Cyberbullying
Phishing
Cyber threats
Privacy
The internet is made up of real people

BULLYING IN ARIZONA
Arizona school policies requires
:
•
A confidential way for parents, teachers, and students to report bullying.
•
Forms that are approved for parents, teachers, and students to fill out confidentially.
•
A detailed definition of what is considered bullying •
Proper documentation for bullying that has occurred. •
Provide investigations on all possible bullying incidents.
•
Consequences for all students who are involved with bullying incidents.
•
Provide a way to protect students from being bullied physically, emotionally, and from being physically harmed.
FERPA LAWS AND REGULATIONS
•
Schools are required by law to obtain written consent from the parent or guardian prior to releasing any student information.
•
Provide student survey at least 7 days prior to administering.
•
Schools must receive written consent to any survey given to students prior to administering.
