2 The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) necessitates that all employees in healthcare settings within the United States be provided with safe working conditions, and the employers possess the legal requirements to offer safety at the workplace. Townsend (2022) highlights that healthcare settings should comply with legal requirements to avoid legal actions. The policy changes that arose from OSHA audits within healthcare included the government supervisors’ rights to inspect the private sector workplace settings to ensure that all workplace hazards are effectively managed. The operations of the OSHA have led to a considerable decrease in work-linked illnesses, injuries and deaths (Townsend, 2022). To enhance workplace safety, OSHA necessitates massive resources, new standards, full employee coverage, and high criminal penalties. The employees should not get injured or acquire illnesses from their employment. The OSHA audits within healthcare settings indicate that the employers have an obligation for safeguarding the workers and executing a guideline that the healthcare settings possess a responsibility of care and safeguarding all employees that could be injured during their job operations. The one court case identified included intensified tuberculosis infection rates at the workplaces due to lack of proper ventilation and congestion within the healthcare settings. The firm was imposed monetary penalties linked with the audit process, which acted as an effective measure of ensuring that the healthcare settings adhere to the safety and health guidelines to ensure that employees remain safe and healthy at the workplace. In my organization, the employees could offer me support to promote workplace health and safety to guarantee overall well-being.
