Stakeholders and their responsibilities in the health care industry exist in a broad range that extends from within the industry to the community at large. Patients, communities, governments, providers, payors, and researchers are some of the many stakeholder groups that have an important role to play in the U.S. health care system. As a  health services manager , your role within the health care industry continues to bring innovation to the continuum of care. Watch " Managed Care in Healthcare " to gain real-world insight about communicating in the health care field. Research 1 health care stakeholder and 1 emerging role in health care that you would like to understand better. What type of health care stakeholder did you select to research? Why is this stakeholder’s role important? What type of emerging role in health care did you select to research? Why do you feel it will have a significant impact on the industry? How has what you have learned about this role changed your vision of the future of health care? . The healthcare stakeholder role I chose to research is the Patient. The reason I chose to research patients is because they are one of the major stakeholders in healthcare and play a key role in
successful clinical research since they are experts in their personal experience of living with a disease or condition. As such they have a lot to contribute to the research process. Also, patients can help design studies that are responsive to patient's questions and needs, and I believe this would promote study awareness and enrollment. It may also improve research quality and appropriateness.  The emerging role in healthcare that I researched are Health Information Specialist. They have a significant role in the healthcare industry for several reasons and some are the growth of Telehealth, and the increase of technology use in healthcare that is growing at a rapid pace. Health Information Specialists analyze and interpret data to identify areas that need improvement. They also develop health information systems that support the collection, sharing, standardization, and interpretation of healthcare data, they work behind the scenes to ensure that medical records are accurate and easily accessible, in many cases, they are responsible for maintaining and updating patients records so that doctors can access them quickly during an emergency, and they also communicate with patients about diagnosis and treatment plans, medications, and follow up care, reviewing medical records to identify cases that might require further investigation or intervention. Also, because medical terminology is the language used by medical professionals to describe health conditions, treatments, and procedures Health information specialists must have a strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret medical records and create informational materials for patients.  Health information specialists will be needed to ensure that EHRs (electronic health records) are implemented correctly and to troubleshoot any problems that arise by understanding how technology can be used to improve the delivery of care, health information specialists can find opportunities to make a lasting impact on the industry.  What I have learned from my research is that it is important for healthcare providers to go digital and implement a successful electronic medical system that will cater to their specific practice needs. I think the problem we have now is that companies think with systems such as Allscripts, epic etc., these are expected to work well with all specialties in healthcare and I do not think that works because some specialty doctors do not collect the same information that primary care physicians do, and therefore they should be using a system that will work for their specific needs
