Basagic, H.J., and Fountain, A.G., 2011, Quantifying 20th century glacier change in the Sierra Nevada, California: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research, v. 43, no. 3, p. 317–330. The source uses photographs, field measures, and a geographic information system analysis to show the effect and changes of glaciers. This source will be helpful for me to understand the impacts of climate change on the glacial features within Yosemite park. Avedesian, C., 1978, Plate Tectonics and Yosemite: Yosemite Nature Notes, v. 47, no. 3. This source discusses the geological history and tectonic plate activities of Sierra Nevada which affects Yosemite National Park and this will help me better understand the background and formation. Matthes, F.E., 1930, Geologic history of the Yosemite valley. U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 160. Matthes’ report details the process that has formed Yosemite. I will use this to help describe the erosion that would occur and how rocks were exposed. Huber, N.K., 1987, The Geologic Story of Yosemite National Park. U.S. Geological Survey Bulletin 1595. This source provides a detailed description on the landscape of Yosemite, and the background on all the different types of rocks that are present, and how they formed. Postglacial history of the Yosemite Valley, npshistory.com. Available from http://npshistory.com/publications/geology/pp/160/sec4.htm (accessed October 2023). This article discusses the landscape evolution of Yosemite, post glacial era, which will help me understand geological hazards and geomorphology.
