Use what you’ve learned during the field trip to answer the following questions: A. Cave formation 1) What is the type of rock in which the cave and tunnel were dug? [2 points] 2) A horizontal notch is developed on the tunnel wall in the upper section of the cave. How was it formed? [2 points] B. Sediments 3) The lower-level sediments were excavated. What was the origin of these sediments? [2 points] C. Speleothems 4) In several places, there are white deposits on the walls. What is their origin, and what dating method can be used to infer when those were formed? [3 points] 5) Vermiculations are also observed on some of the cave walls what is their origin? [2 points] 6) What are some of the animals that inhabit the cave? How do they orient themselves in the cave? [2 points]
