Report
Ryleigh Morehouse 10/3/2023 In the nineteenth century, the fear of global climate change rose to the worries of scientists. There have been many different points in science where it has been proven there will and is a change in the climate. Many of these discoveries have reached political bases, however, scientifically there are many different arguments with substantial evidence of the Earth's atmosphere constantly changing, along with the Earth's climate we experience. Moreover, there have been changes in the ozone layer, a disruption of the balance of gasses inside the atmosphere, and constant temperature activities. The disruption of the balance of gasses in the atmosphere has many different causes. The first and the most presented form is the burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels can directly impact climate change by the changes it enforces to the atmosphere, along with how an over amount of greenhouse gases in the air can cause permanent damage in different parts. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, are common gasses, however, an over amount of these gasses can cause a disruption which increases climate change by increasing temperatures since carbon traps temperatures for decades. As shown by “Union Concerned Scientists” the increased emission of greenhouse gasses that are normally caused by human activities, such as burning fuel, and deforestation. This is supported by the evidence of increased climate change that has been consistent starting from the 1990’s. As discussed in the last paragraph temperatures increasing have a direct link to the heating of the globe/climate change. There is also evidence that shows not only do human activities cause the emission of greenhouse gasses, but wildfires also have an impact on the increased temperatures proving climate change. In the climate change article from “Union Concerned Scientists,” it is mentioned how the increase in the gasses is in relation to temperature changes. Wildfires also contribute to the emission of greenhouse gasses like carbon which increases temperatures. Another source of evidence of climate change by these increased temperatures is the patterns of the snow covering mountains decreasing and there are more plants blooming earlier in the spring as presented by “NOAA Climate Change”. Even with the amount of evidence supporting climate change, it has its limitations with speculation. These limitations include that even scientists against Climate Change may agree fossil fuels are a contributor to the output of greenhouse gasses. However, the combustion of fossil fuels effectively is a way to produce energy so scientists who believe ruling all fossil fuels out would not contribute effectively to the environmental system process also presented by “The Break Through”. There will always be constant changes happening in the world, but the depletion of the ozone layer, increased temperatures, and emission of unwanted greenhouse gasses cannot be denied when talking about evidence in favor of recent climate
Ryleigh Morehouse 10/3/2023 change. This in itself has bothered scientists for decades as they have studied the increased temperatures on Earth.
