FINA 2770 Part 3 Script
These will be the investment options for your 401K. Socially best would be PGSYX which just means it's
the pioneer global sustainable equality income class for your responsible investing. Best option for lower
expense ratio is SWISX which is your Schwab international index fund. The largest expense ratio is PXSCX
which is your impacts small cap fund. The investment option that offers the most access to international
investments is again SWISX or the Schwab international index fund. And the option that is the simplest
or easiest is that SWYOX which is the schwab target 2065 index fund.
Last but not least the investment choice that I recommend would be the SWISX because it is the most
versatile but if you're looking for something more environmentally focused I would say go for the PG SYX
Mr. and Mrs. Kroger, hello! Today, we'll talk about investments and retirement. After reviewing the
details, you sent me, I see that you two are 27 years old and intend to retire at 70. Since your incomes
have been combined, you currently have $120,000, and at the end of the year, you should have $12,482
in balance. Given that you intend to save $5 million by the time you reach retirement age of 70, you have
43 years to accumulate that amount of money. Based on your employment, your joint employer
contribution will be calculated annually, which comes to $3600. With your percentage from working, you
need to save at least 13.05%, therefore with that, you guys should be saving $15,655 give or take a few
cents.
With that said, let's discuss which order of investment is optimal for you. Four different kinds of accounts
exist. Variable annuities, Roth IRAs, Traditional IRAs, and 401Ks. The 401(k) or Roth IRA would be the
ideal account type, based on how much you guys save annually. The Roth IRA contribution maximum is
$12,055.06, and it is primarily dependent on your spouse. The pair will contribute $3,600 a year to their
401(k).
These are going to be your 401(k) investing alternatives. PGSYX is the pioneer worldwide sustainable
equality income class for your responsible investing, making it the socially optimal option. Your Schwab
international index fund, SWISX, is your best bet for a reduced expense ratio. The impact small cap fund,
PXSCX, has the highest expense ratio. Once more, SWISX, or the Schwab international index fund, is the
investing option that provides the greatest access to foreign investments. And the Schwab target 2065
index fund, or SWYOX, is the one that is the simplest or easiest. Last but not least the investment choice
that I recommend would be the SWISX because it is the most versatile but if you're looking for
something more environmentally focused, I would say go for the PG SYX

1. Suppose there is a mutual fund and each consumer buys
a share in it for her endowment at t = 0. The mutual fund

maximises the wealth of its shareholders when choosing
IF, the investment in the long term technology. At t =1,
the mutual fund pays dividend d to each of its
shareholders. At t = 1, the shares can be traded at price
p".
a. Set up the mutual fund's optimisation problem and
derive and interpret the first order condition. What
happens when R increases and why?
b. What is the optimal consumption profile cf, c and
the optimal investment IF?

BMF A Discussions > Which Investment Opportunity Is Best?
Discussion Details
1. Money is (for obvious reasons) extremely important in our society and has been for several years. Acquiring it, however, can be easier said than done, which is why using investment
opportunities can be advantageous. However, like any good thing, it is risky and the pros and cons of it must be taken into account.
2. Think of two investment opportunities and compare them to each other. Give a brief outline of what they are, how they work, and what kind of results can be expected from them. Also go
over the risks associated with them and what could go wrong in your investment.
3. Make an argument for one of the two investment opportunities. Suppose you are about to make an investment of $1,000-which opportunity would give you the most for that money?
Why? Give strong support for your reasoning.
