Objective Summary: On 7/31/2020, at approximately 23:45 hours, I was driving south on Highway 64 and observed a vehicle swerving and unable to stay in its lane. I conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle, at which time I noticed that the driver of the car was a fellow state trooper in my department. When I was at the vehicle, I could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath, and his speech was slurred. The driver told me that he had just left a retirement party after I asked if he had been drinking drink tonight. The driver said that if I let the "error slide," he would park his car and call his wife to pick him up. I decided to treat this stop like any other and make an arrest.
