Background Capital one is an American brand that was launched in ,in mid 1990s and has more than 47000 employees. Due to it small size, capital one was able to respond quickly to market demands though in the growth process it lost some agility. With around 50 thousand workers and a turnover total of $28 billion by 2018, Capital One is considered the 5th biggest consumer financial company in the United States and eighth largest marginally. Capital One operates in an extremely regulated environment and complies with existing regulations such as "the New York Stock Exchange (" NYSE "), the 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules of implementation thereof.
Expansion/business model Capital One increased its market share in the UK and Canada in 1996. The bank was included in the Standard & Poor's 500, and its inventory price reached $100 in 1998. Capital One has been focusing on the procurement of monolines in several related sectors throughout its evolution. During Capital One's 2008 subprime financial crisis, the US Treasury, because of the Troubled Asset Relief Program in the year 2008, gave $3.56 billion in investments. Capital one growth is based mostly on information based strategy which integrates promotional activities with substantial statistical analysis to enhance the understanding of the needs and risk profiles of clients. the firm utilizes information from various sources to borrow from a customer, giving the organizations a competitive advantage.

Business divisions Capital One Credit Card- Capital One began as a credit card provider. Credit cards are issued in the US, the UK and Canada, with financial scholars and other entrusted economists perceiving it as the third- largest issuer of credit cards in America by 2016, accounting for 62.5 million card holders, representing 11.13% of the overall market share. Capital One 360 – Consumer Banking- Capital One 360, is a direct financial institution which regularly provides financial services such as account checks, savings and cash market accounts, is operated by Capital One. . In this department, the plan provides individuals, communities and families a wide range of mass markets and personalized financial products (Pritchard). Capital One Commercial Banking- The business unit provides a variety of services, including consumer loans, deposit-taking, capital markets, management of treasury, private investment management.
Capital One’s Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic Capital One continues to support local communities by promoting vaccination efforts towards underrepresented and marginalized communities. The COVID-19 pandemic had a particularly negative impact on the health of black and other immigrant communities. although these are all the societies that require assistance and solutions most, they get the lowest rates of vaccination. The RCHD couples with Capital One throughout the metropolitan region of Richmond and Washington try to change this by making access to vaccines and education fairer and more equal (White). Capital one has put efforts to provide access to vaccines by offering financial reliefs. Capital One, as a company deeply invested in promoting socioeconomic accessibility in underserved populations, recognizes the pandemic's negative impact on minority communities.
