Goal Development Subject Area: 5 th Grade Science Standard: SC.5.E.5.2 The goal of this engineering design challenge is to assist students in learning about and exploring the properties of the planets in our solar system. GOAL CREATION GOAL 1 GOAL 2 GOAL 3 Condition Following their viewing of a planetarium film, the students will talk about the planet they would most like to visit. After that, the students will be divided into four-person groups. Every group will select a planet, research it, make a report on it, and create a spaceship to visit it. Subsequently, the students will showcase their spacecraft and Planet report to the class. Behavior Students will individually do a 6- question worksheet based on the video. I will finish answering the ten planet-related questions they have to turn in to class. A worksheet including three important questions about each planet will be distributed to other students to complete during presentations. (30 questions in all). Mastery Will accurately respond to 4 of the 6 questions. Will answer 8 out of 10 questions correctly. will properly respond to 27 of the 30 questions.
Final Goal Following their viewing of a planetarium film, the students will individually complete a 6-question worksheet and discuss which planet they would like to visit. Will accurately respond to 4 of the 6 questions. Following that, the pupils will be divided into groups of four. For the purpose of writing a report and designing a spaceship to reach their planet, each group will select one planet. After that, students will finish answering ten questions about their planet that they have to show the class. will finish the ten planet-related questions they have to bring to class. Will accurately respond to 8 of the 10 questions. Following that, the students will show the class their spaceship and planet report. To complete during presentations, students will get a worksheet including three important questions on each planet (a total of thirty questions). will properly respond to 27 of the 30 questions.

Following group work in pairs and prescribed reading, the student Behavior will complete a worksheet with ten questions based on the video.. Depending on the questions in the game, will do a 15-question worksheet in class (all at once). will do a worksheet consisting of 20 questions based on the assigned reading. (Students are welcome to use the book.) Mastery Will accurately respond to 8 of the 10 questions. Will answer 13 out of 15 questions correctly. will properly respond to 18 of the 20 questions.
Final Goal after viewing the "The Galaxy and Beyond" video. will individually complete a worksheet consisting of ten questions based on the movie, properly answering eight of the questions. The student will complete a 15- question worksheet (collectively) based on the questions in a group "Jeopardy" game based on knowledge about galaxies after taking part in the game. 13 of the 15 questions will be answered correctly by the students. The student will do a 20-question worksheet based on the reading in class once they have finished the prescribed reading and the worksheet in groups of two. Students can use the book as a resource. Pupils will get 18 out of 20 questions right.
