For this persuasive essay I will be arguing whether or not whether or not all business should go paperless. This argument is connected to my major for business administration. In my current role as a credit resolution representative in healthcare facility, I can see first hand the amount of paperwork being lost each day, the amount of paper being wasted every week. Having
the option to have less paper helps keeps everyone organized, especially when working. It is also
a waste of time and money for jobs because employees have to stop working to file paperwork or
to reorganize the filing cabinet or shelving which results in a high cost to upkeep the maintenance. It also takes time away from the production scores as employees could be resolving
more accounts/clients needs instead filing and going through older paper work to shred and make
room for newer paperwork. I hope that the audience reading my essay will be the ones who are wary of technology and it changes. I also would target the many businesses that have not gone paperless but are looking into doing so. This may include small business and their staff, corporate businesses, mangers and representatives who work for a healthcare facility in the office but still waste time filing paperwork. I want to show the importance of going paperless so that less paper is wasted, increase productivity scores which means more revenue for the company, how more secure the document would be saved on software and time is well spent. This would support the primary argument by showing the reader the advantages of going paperless. The challenges would be convincing the management to spend money on software. And once the company upgrades to electronic documents keeping up with upgrading technology constantly. Three key points that can support my argument are; Updating to paperless is more environmentally friendly. Next is having electronic versions of documents is more secure than
having documents on paper. And lastly is going paperless will provide better productivity scores which results in more revenue coming into the company’s pockets. Sources that will support my key points are; How to start and run a paperless office by Nerino J. Petro Jr., and the second one is How going paperless Boosts productivity and improves services by Journal of Housing and Community development. These sources not only support my topic but also shows that this is an ongoing issue with producing waste for the environment and how much filing paperwork steal from the company by not getting enough revenue. These articles also mention details on how going paperless improves services, for example it will be easier to share health documents through electronic than on paper. To use the evidence from the essay to convince people to go paperless, I will be stating the reasons why we need to make the change. I will have a list of pros and cons of going paperless and will gather more information on my key points to make them easier for the readers to understand. I want to ensure my key points are strong and to the point. I look forward to receiving feedback on my assignments because this helps me focus on areas I need to improve on and make changes when needed. My instructors’ feedback is strong and is helping me become a better writer, by helping me organize my thoughts better and providing more supporting details to my essays.
