WEEK ONE APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT 1
2
Introduction
This assignment will use an Old Testament passage from the Wisdom Literature of Job in
the Holy Bible.
The Old Testament has taught me to have courageous strength to endure any
pain and suffering, trouble, problems, heartache, death, crime, and violence in the world today.
My mother instilled that strength in me when I had problems growing up in life and marriage
domestic violence and adultery ruined my marriage of 10 years of hell but held on hoping and
praying that one day he would love me and the children and be a good husband and father. My
mother told me when I was hurting and depressed to remember Job in the Bible and all his pain
and suffering and how he trusted God and did not curse God and die, he believed God would
show up and show out and god did just that. But Job had to experience the great loss of 10
children, and all his animals and his body started rotting, his wife even told him to give up and
curse God and die.
Describe How the Passage is Relevant to You Now
The
Old Testament passage from the Wisdom Literature of Job in the Holy Bible is as
relevant to me today as I strive to live in these last cruel and evil days of this old world, as it was
in the OT times.
The Wisdom Literature of Job has taught me how to have great strength,
endurance, faith, trust, hope, long-suffering, how to not give up and curse God, weeping last only
a night but joy comes in the morning light.
And I know that the race is not given to the swift nor
to the strong, but to the one who endureth until the end.
I had so many things happen in my life
that I had no other choice but to have faith in God to bring me out of these situations.
My baby son was in a high-speed chase here in Birmingham Alabama 2012, which killed
an 11-month-old baby girl, mother, and father very sad, and it was hard on both families.

still in prison today serving a 19-year sentence.
Again, my mother reminded me once again to be
strong and trust God to bring me through this disturbing and hard time.
She also reminded me to
remember Job and how he suffered and was filled with pain
and body rotting, friends betraying
him, and worst of all his wife betrayed him and asked him to give up curse God and die, Job told
his wife that she sounds like a foolish woman.
Today I learned to let go and let God, pray for my
son, and not worry, he is doing fine today because I keep him encouraged and prayed up for
safety, strength, forgiveness, faith, and to hold on.
I call him my prodigal son when he gets
exonerated from prison and what a feast and celebration in the Lord we will have.
I can talk all
day until you are blue in the face about how the Wisdom Literature of Job in the Holy Bible has
helped me spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.
How to trust God in everything I do
and have, I know I should be crazy or dead right now, but God who is my redeemer and savior
kept me through it all, and what is to come, I know I do not have anything to worry about.
Genesis 3:15 KJV
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He
shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.
However, there will be enmity between the distinctive woman (Eve) and the serpent who
deceived her, according to this verse. The word enmity specifies a blood feud. There will also be
enmity between his seed and her seed. God promised that in due course, the serpent would bruise
the heel of the seed of the woman. Therefore, the seed of the woman would also bruise or squash
the head of the serpent. This will be a fatal blow. Some may ask, who is the seed of the woman,
and who is the seed of the serpent? Others may ask, what do these predictions mean?
As we can see, there is no explanation for the phrase the seed of the woman. The seed is to be
realized as either one person or a group of people whose presence would be some time in the
future. It was a promise of someone or some people to come.
