My Fear- Personal Narrative Essay
My Fear– Personal Narrative Every child, teenager and adult has experienced anxiety, fear or worry
at some time in their lives. Everyone has their own phobias. Some are just temporary whereas others
just linger, haunting them forever. Life allows us each of us to experience challenges in our own
way. But when these challenges become almost impossible to complete, they become long term
problems. When faced with fear, one looks for the easiest route out, but in my case, there were no
signposts. There is one part of my life that I vividly recall. I don't really know when or how it
started. Maybe I'd had it all my life or maybe it developed at a certain age. Perhaps, that will remain
an unsolved

I didn't know why this was happening and felt that I had no control over my thoughts or fears. By
this stage, I would have persistent nightmares of my house burning down where everyone in the
building would escape, with the exception of me. I remember how I felt after being awoken by the
fear of death. It was a feeling of confusion and I didn't know why this was happening. My phobia
totally disabled me and at the time I found it difficult to relax. I live alone with my mum and she
was unaware of what I was secretly going through. At the time, I never really opened my eyes to the
fact that I had a problem. I told myself that it was just a phase and that I was fine but deep down I
think I always knew that this was untrue. Another habit of mine was counting syllables of words.
Whenever I would see a shop sign I would count the syllables of the words written and would
ensure that the number of syllables did not exceed sixteen (my favourite number). One evening, a
friend of mine had visited my home for dinner and I could do nothing but worry about the food
overcooking and causing a fire. It would not leave my mind and was all that I could think of. That is
when I noticed that my actions were odd. I almost immediately logged on to the internet and
searched for fire related obsessions.

Essay on Sports Narrative

major role in my life would definitely be sports. It is almost as if I look up to sports because I could
not live without them. Sports pretty much define me as me. I love to play sports as well as watch all
kinds of sports on T.V. and if I could ever go to a game and watch the players play live I would be
thrilled. Basically sports define me because I am ambitious, I finish what I start, I set goals for
myself, and I am a fierce competitor in which I love to win and I hate to lose. The greatest part about
sports to me is living for the moment when the game is on the line and the pressure is on can you

With the game tied 6–6 that is when I went into my own little zone and was in my moment. The
crowed was electrified and cheering us on. I thought about all the hard work the coaches put us
through doing two a days and keeping us late after a hard practice, spending all of that time and hard
work just for this one little moment when the game was on the line. Back to reality our quarterback
had started the play and it looked like it was going nowhere and we might have to got into overtime.
Then after about 6 crazy seconds he threw the ball to our halfback and he broke a couple tackles and
the somehow stretched across the goal line by about 2 inches and we had taken the lead 8–6 with 52
seconds to go. When the game clock hit 00:00 for the first time in our schools history the football
team had beaten Aberdeen and none of us could believe it. This was a special moment. Now, it was
in this moment when I had realized that sports define me as me because we never gave up, none of
us wanted to lose, we set a goal and completed it, but most important we kept our eye on the prize
and came through in the moment when the game was on the line. Nobody is going to remember how
many games we won or who the best player on the team was that season, but I guarantee what
people will remember is when we had beaten Aberdeen for the first time in school

Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay
Narrative: A memorable event.
I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day
that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving
Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''.
I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked
fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there
was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all
the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed
salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,

Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became
more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let
alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust,
manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of.
There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with
enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse
,
and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly.
She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was
also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood
glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a
striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and
proclaimed his name as Cashmere.
As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs
trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying. As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a
mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him.

Narrative Essay On Anxiety
I was officially diagnosed with Anxiety this summer, 2016. Since I was little my parents claim they
knew I had it. My parents would tell you my mood swings would be out of control. When something
would go astray my mood would shift. Shift to almost a three year old having a meltdown. The
crying, creaming, hyperventilating, shaking, the world seemed it was ending in my eyes. Many
times if you were to ask me why I was behaving as such I couldn't tell you. Losing sight to what the
initial issue was. I was go to bed after, my parents telling my I need a nap. I would crawl into bed,
the familiar sent of the linen sheets, calming me down. I would wake up from my na being
completely refreshed. The mood swing would be over, or otherwise known as the manic low.

I did it for fun and loved it, just like nay other college student. But than I discovered "self
medicating" in a sense. I did a ton of research and I started smoking to help with my anxiety. I
discovered a medicine that helped me.
I found the right amount to smoke to help me daily and I found more of my triggers and how to
handle them. I know I need structure. I started smoking every night. Because at night my thoughts
being to race and my anxiety starts to spike. So every night I would smoke after a month of doing so
I learned that my anxiety went way down. After three months, my friends started noticing that my
anxiety "went away". Since than living with anxiety has been doable for me. I feel I can manage it. I
feel I have control over my anxiety. My grades went up because I was able to focus on school and
not anxiety. My friends and I created a closer bond because once again I was able to focus on us and
not the anxiety. Everything was becoming clear to me. Everyone has their own way of handling
anxiety. Medications world for some vs others like me, it made it worse. However I found my
solution for anxiety. I found what worked for

Personal Narrative My Life Essay
Personal Narrative My Life
I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believed life took me where I wanted
to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. Once I entered high
school I changed the way I thought. This is why I chose to go to college. I believe that college will
give me the keys to unlock the doors of life. This way I can choose for myself where I go instead of
someone choosing for me.
I have chosen to go to the local community college to get used to the college experience. College
life can be an exciting time but at the same time it can be a challenge. I feel that starting out at the
community college would be a better chose than "jumping" into life at a

I know this is what I want to do with my life. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of
children. I want to be able to stand up and show the children that it is okay to be yourself and stand
up for what you believe in. I am a well round student. For nine years I was actively involved in a
girls organization. This experience taught me many things. We were actively involved in community
service activities, for which I received the Silver Award. ( The second highest award in the
organization.) I learned about the value of friendship and patients with others. This organization first
introduced me to my future career. I was also involved for three and a half years in a student
government club on campus. In this club I learned many life lessons. One of which was the value of
hard work. I was one of the few people that organized the Junior/Senior Prom of 2000. My
responsibilities included planning corranation, buying and organizing decorations, planning the
busing schedule, booking the photographers, fundraising, ect. This taught me about hard work. But
the best part of it was going to Prom knowing I was one of the only reasons that it happened. As far
as school goes, my schedule is very diverse. I am taking child development lab, which is a class
where students from my high school can go to the local elementary schools and work one on one
with the students. I have work in the elementary school for two and a half years. I

Everyone has challenges that can affect their life and aspirations. I find that it is how one
internalizes those challenges, pushes through, and how one learns and grows from those challenges
that allows one to adapt to those challenges so they do not impede personal growth. While I have
experienced many challenges over the years, one experience that stands out was my first major

I had had no particular love for writing previously as the rules were semi fluid and the answer not

asked of me by my teachers. However, when I entered high school I had my first major multi page

When I went to write the narrative essay I found it much easier to establish my personal ideas and
stories into the overall theme I wanted to create. When I turned in my essay for that class I was able
to get a good grade and maintain my A in that class. Due to utilizing a method I allready found
enjoyable and entertaining I was able to turn in a quality end product. I feel that if I had tried to
write creatively through just practicing my essays repetively I wouldn't have been able to maintain
my interest in the problem. Focusing my creativity on editing allowed me to improve my ability to
better come up with ideas that That experience taught me that the most common or conventional
way to solve a problem may not always be the best for me or someone else. Making use of an
unconventional method tailored to you can yield greater

Narrative Essay I step my foot into public school for the first time ever my freshman year, not
knowing a single person other than my brother. Prior to my freshman year, I was homeschooled. The
school feels really big at the time and it's very overwhelming. As I walk around I see people
hugging, reuniting, and saying, "oh my gosh I have missed you!" All I am worrying about is what
people are thinking of me like, does she have any friends, or she looks like a loner. I am getting
nervous and more nervous every second that passes. I decide I need to go straight to my classroom,
but I have no idea where to go. I finally make my way to my classroom, then I sit down, and the bell
rings. "The day is just beginning," I think to myself.

I am halfway through the day. After this long day it's still not over yet, I am just half way through
the day going into 5th period. As I walked in I see a girl I already met and I wanted to run and give
her a hug, I was so excited to see someone I already knew. I didn't have to worry where I was going
to sit that period, or who I was going to talk to. I probably looked like the happiest person in the
world with a big smile on my face. As I am smiling as I say, "hello, Claire right?" She says, "Yes!"
We sit together, exchange social media usernames, and numbers. Later, I go to 6th period, my
science class. When we come in the teacher says to talk with people to sit in alphabetical order. I am
placed next to a kid named Dominic Thomas, and his buddy is sitting on the other side of me. They
were acting like I didn't exist, and getting in my personal space. Later, the teacher says, "The person
sitting at your table will be your lab partner." That's when I found out Dominic Thomas will be my
lab partner for the quarter. I did not know what was coming for me. Finally, 7th period here I come.
Now this class was one crazy class, with some crazy people, but it was all good because I get to
leave after this period. The bell rings and I am out of there. Leaving school I am feeling many
emotions, I am happy to leave, excited to tell my mom about all I experienced that day,

Literacy Narrative Essay example
At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward
reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure
but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very
basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit
discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter
my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my
everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the
action unless it relates to something I am very

You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the
same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was intentional
but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very
different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to
write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the most important
aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally. To
put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the
world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes
sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing assignment or I
am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and
overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school
when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class simply because there
was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a
grade. Being forced to write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not
enjoyable for myself and as a result the

Essay on Narrative Therapy
Abstract
This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper will
begin by discussing how the narrative approach defines and perceives problems. It will address how
narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the professional. This
paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will also focus on three
main techniques used in narrative therapy, which will include externalization, deconstruction and
re–authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the medical model. The Logic
of Narrative Therapy Narrative therapy is considered postmodern due to the fact that it uses a story
telling approach to

According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows
the client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the
story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the therapist
begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley,
1996). In deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is involved with the
problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over time,
how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client's
life (Kelley, 1996).
Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the
deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working
together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on
the client's life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it
lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket & Epston, 1997). According to
Monk, Winslade, Crocket & Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is discussed
with the client they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. They

Narrative Essay
As times goes on you, realize life isn't all it seems to be. You learn life lessons and certain life events
teach you things that can lead to you improving yourself as a person. As you realize most things in
life are provided to you, you never truly realize how much everything can mean. As teenagers most
of us are immature and do not realize how easy it is for us to lose everything we have. As we could
lose everything and anything in a matter of seconds if we are not careful.
It was another typical Monday morning, I had that same feeling I always do when I wake up,
dreadly having to get up, use the bathroom, and brush my teeth and get ready for school. It is the
same process throughout the whole week until Friday.

The next week was a breeze and it comes down to the night before I had already packed all my stuff
that night I was told of the trip
. Next morning I woke up bright and early ate breakfast and we
headed to the airport. The next few hours were mostly just traveling typical airplane food, only thing
that was interesting about the travel was the fact that during one of flights I was sat beside a drunk
idiot and then got moved up a few seats and got 3 seats all to myself! When we finally landed in
Pakistan it did not look anything different than in Canada. I thought "oh well maybe it looks the
same, and is the same" because personally I didn't know much about this place other than the fact I
had family here. When we got all our stuff and headed out in a car I noticed nothing different but
that might have been due to the fact I was kind of fatigued and the fact we were in a bigger city. On
the travel to my cousins I fell asleep, and didn't get woken up until we reached their house. When I
got out of the car I was too tired and was way to jetlagged to realize how different things were so I
went straight into the house and went back to bed.
I mostly slept for the whole first day. As I woke up by my family, they invited me to go out and try
out some of the local foods as everything here was very fresh down to
