Tionna Taylor Game Assignment: Round 2 Given the statements within the maintenance memo, it was rather concerning given the high rate of failure from those that were not checked and that went without inspection. As I have been trying to play my decisions on the safe side, I was also contradicted with the thought that it had only been one round and I do not see my rig needing emergency shut-in due to BOP overload within just two rounds. Given the statement from the budgeting team, I took what they had to say with some skepticism because they are more worried with producing revenue; and given the crude price of oil this round they may be concerned with producing as much as possible to increase net income and budgeting. I had a feeling their recommendation was based on expenses and budgeting and did not consider ethical decisions or potential safety of the rig. With both of these recommendations in mind, I decided to go through with the inspection for the simple fact that it was a safe and ethical decision while still taking advantage of the crude oil prices and 25% of requested production. I needed to make some sort of revenue given the potential risk of the BOP; and considering how early it is, I rather not miss out due to a complete BOP overhaul, or even worse, a blow-out. To me, this was a compromise to ensure the safety of the rig while also trying to still produce revenue. Also, it may allow me a better scope of when my BOP overhaul needs to take place and at least gives me one more round before I need to consider an overhaul action.
