Discussion 5 "If prototypes ask questions, then playtest provide the answers"(Macklin and Sharp) I believe this statement shows that prototyping and playtesting are equally important when it comes to game development, they work to create the bigger picture of what your game is and what it could be and while prototyping may ask the questions and playtesting may provide answers, sometimes answers lead to more important questions. An Internal Playtest is where you see if what you created would be something enjoyable for you or you and your team to play. If you do not like how the game is played then you can have a first-hand idea of how exactly you need to adjust your concept. Your team can provide valuable feedback as well due to their closeness and familiarity with the project. As I don’t have a team I am working with in this instance I don’t believe I would implement this type of playtest. Similarly with Game Developer Playtest as I don’t have any game developer friends it would be difficult for me to implement this type of playtest. However, this is where you could network with people through things like Unreal or other gamdev forums. The only downfall I could see is potentially risking someone stealing your game idea when working with people you don’t know personally. Friends and Family Playtesting is most likely where I will implement most of my playtesting. I have a small network of long-time gamer friends who play a variety of games particularly TPS. Most are good with tech so it would be simple for me to share the game with them and allow them to play it and give me feedback. This would also be a good opportunity to utilize the Unreal forums if you were needing more input. My players in this group would probably turn into the Experienced Player Playtest as they already have experience with the game and they are a group of people I trust.
