A. Explain what this traffic light means. B. Imagine you are the driver approaching this traffic light. Describe your driving thoughts and actions in the few seconds before reaching this point. The yellow traffic light means caution and that it's about to change to red. If I was the driver I would begin to slow down, and come to a full stop before reaching the light so as not to run into the next lanes that may begin to cross over my path. A. Name at least two indicators that a driver must not turn right at this intersection. B. If you were to mistakenly make the right turn, what are steps you should take to reduce the risk to yourself and others? Some indicators that show that the driver cannot turn right at this intersection is the sign that crosses out a right turn arrow, a one way sign pointing to the left, and a do not enter sign when entering the right side lanes. If I did make a right turn I would keep going (slowly/safely) to find the nearest area where I could make a u-turn. A. What is the procedure to safely navigate this intersection with a broken traffic signal? B. How would you respond if there was an officer directing traffic? If a traffic signal was broken I would respond by using the first come first go rule. So wherever vehicles arrive at the intersection continues first, and so on. But if i get to the stop as another vehicle i would let them go first if they were on my right side. If there was an officer directing traffic I would listen to his directions and not the signals or lights. A. With both vehicles approaching a stop sign, which vehicle has the right of way at this intersection? B. Why? When two vehicles approach a stop sign, the vehicle on the left would let the right side go first since they have the right of way.
A. Explain right-of-way rules for navigating a roundabout. B. As the driver of the red SUV, what are your options for navigating this roundabout? The Right-of-way rules for a roundabout is that vehicles navigating in the roundabout have the right of way, and vehicles entering will have to yield to traffic circling and traffic incoming from the right. If I was in the red SUV I would have to follow the sign and yield to any vehicles driving through the roundabout and let them go before me since they have the right of way.
