Austin Community College Computer Science and Information Technology Department BCIS 2390 – System Analysis and Design: Project Management Assignment 5 – Project Scope Management Open a new Microsoft Word document and answer the questions listed in the tasks. Save the file on your laptop or computer with your name in the filename. (Example: LSylvester_Assignment-1.doc). Use Microsoft Project to complete task 4. Task(s) 1. You are working on a project to develop a new or enhanced system to help people at your college, university, or organization to find jobs. The system must be tailored to your student or work population and be very easy to use. Write a short paper describing how you would collect requirements for this system, and include at least five requirements in a requirements traceability matrix. 2. Read the report cited in the chapter called PMI's Pulse of the Profession: Requirements Management—A Core Competency for Project and Program Success. Find one or two other reports on requirements management written in the past year. Summarize the findings of the reports and your opinion on the topic. 3. Use MindView or similar software to develop a WBS for a project of your choice. You can use one of the examples in this chapter, or create your own. Take screenshots of the WBS in various formats (mind map, chart, and tabular). 4. Create the same WBS from Exercise 3 using Microsoft Project or similar software and indenting categories appropriately. Use the outline numbering feature to display the outline numbers, or enter the numbers manually. Do not enter any durations or dependencies. See Appendix A or Project 2016's Help for instructions on creating a WBS. Uploading the resulting Gantt chart on one page, and be sure to display the entire Task Name column. Turn in All assignments will be completed in class and graded on Blackboard. We will discuss the assignment in class before submission to Blackboard. Once you have completed the tasks related to the assignment, submit your solution file on the Assignment link on Blackboard within the week’s folder.
