MODULE EIGHT ACTIVITY Bruce-Balasch 1 Reflection Activity I have thoroughly enjoyed this class as I have learned more about cross-platform technology than I knew walking into this class. An example of cross-platform technology used in daily life is the smart home. Using intelligent appliances, Ring Doorbells, Smart Thermostats, Smart Lighting, cloud-based security cameras, and Alexa gives an easier way to run daily lives. I have gained more knowledge of security and ease of communication with smart-based technology than any other throughout this class. I have been working with Verkada Security; taking what I have learned from this class, I have used my knowledge to understand cloud security cameras better. I have not had any shifts in understanding the concepts as much as I have just gained a better understanding of the concepts. The most significant societal benefits of cross-platform technology can fall under both personal and professional lives, and that is user interaction. Having applications that can be used on any platform makes the ease of use better for all ages. Technology is ever-evolving, and creating an easy way to use it for children to the elderly is the best way to have a successful cross-platform technology experience. I learned how far artificial intelligence is moving in technology and some of the benefits and constraints it holds within technology. For instance, deepfake is everywhere and used more than I initially knew. I believe that there are good and bad points that can be made. Sure, it is fun to see videos of famous people in different movies, such as Jim Carrey playing the role of Jack Nicholson in The Shining. However, there can be consequences, such as cyberbullying, as some people use this technology to hurt others. For example, adding a female from the school’s face on a body gives a perception that she is something that she is not, which leads to a bad reputation that she did not earn, and could lead to worse, such as suicidal attempts.

MODULE EIGHT ACTIVITY Bruce-Balasch 2 Though artificial intelligence is ever-changing, the benefits far outweigh the constraints. As we move to the future, more and more society will rely on artificial intelligence in personal and professional lives.
