1 Electrification Intern Procedure Manual Onboarding To perform your duties you will need to have the following software installed on your computer: ● CPS Test Tool ○ Use JDRS to download this application ○ You will need to have a license for this tool, email your manager to request a license ■ Once you have received the license open your Local Disk C drive in your file explorer and drag and drop your license file to your JDRM folder ● CANalyzer ○ Use JDRS to download this application ○ Talk with your manager to order a CAN case ○ Build a CAN harness ■ Get 6 foot long green and yellow wires that have been bundled together from the lab ■ Get a vector connector kit from the lab from the drawer behind the 3D printers ■ In the software testing bay, sodder the green wire to the fifth pin out of the vector connector and sodder the yellow connector to the sixth pin out ■ Follow instructions in the vector connector kit to assemble the rest of the connector ■ From the lab connect a green and yellow banana jack to the end of their respective wires ■ Add a resistor between the banana jacks which can be found in the lab ○ Talk with manager about acquiring vector license ● Power BI Desktop ○ Use JDRS to download this application ● Fork ○ Use JDRS to download this application ○ ● Saltshaker ○ Use JDRS to download this application ○ Open the salt shaker application once it has downloaded and follow the prompts ○ When the salt shaker window opens, select “Save and run” and wait for the script to finish executing ● RP120 API ○ Email manager asking for installation file

2 ● MATLAB 2020b ○ Use JDRS to download this application ○ Open MATLAb 2020b and follow the instructions to acquire license ● Visual Studio 2019 ○ Use JDRS to download this application ● Vector Hardware Manager ○ Use JDRS to download this application High Voltage Mobile DC Fast Charger Ask your manager for access to the High Voltage Mobile DC Fast Charger SharePoint. Look through the various items in this folder and familiarize yourself with where different things are located. Scroll through the Mobile DC Charging Trailer powerpoint. Study the skid and gain an understanding of the various sub-systems in the build. Create a projects folder in your C drive on your local disk. Email manager to gain access to the Github repository for the software for the mobile fast charger. Clone the repository into your projects folder by using Fork. There are tutorials on how to do this in your Electrification Team One-Note which you should have received on your first day. Open MATLAB 2020b and navigate to the mobile dc fast charger repository in your projects folder. Ask Chris McDonald on your team for video tutorials on how to use MATLAB Simulink and create Simulink models. Start with looking through the thermal system model to help familiarize yourself with the Skid’s logic and what the goal of the model is. Make small changes to the variables and flash it onto the skid with your CAN case and harness to see how it affects the system. Talk with Chris McDonald about what new software needs to be written for the project and begin creating your own model. It's best not to start from scratch, so ask your manager if there’s any similar sub-systems that have already been created for other projects. Taxonomy Power BI Visualization Project Ask Kelly Kowalewski for access to the Taxonomy excel spreadsheet. Navigate to the Calc High Voltage Traction sheet data set and read over the various columns to familiarize yourself with the data being stored in the sheet about the different machines. Navigate to the Graph - Wheel Performance sheet and look at the graphs. Message Reggie Bindl to have him explain what the graphs are used for and how he created them. Open the Wheel Performance Power BI and refresh the data used by the graph by:

3 ● Update the T&CU Taxonomy File “Calc High Voltage” sheet ○ Make sure to have macros enabled ● Open the Wheel Performance Data.xlsm file in the same folder as this file ○ Make sure to have macros enabled ● Select the Torque Data sheet and click the “Update Data” button in cell A1 ○ Should take around 15 – 18 minutes ○ Can still perform tasks outside of excel ● Open the Graph Wheel Performance.pbix file ● Click “Refresh” button on the home tab at the top of the page After data is refreshed, watch Power BI tutorials on YouTube to familiarize yourself with the tool. Talk with Kelly Kowalewski for updates on the current state of the project. Your goal is to recreate the two graphs, in the Taxonomy file on the Graph - Wheel Performance sheet, in Power BI. In excel look at the developer tab and open up VBA(Visual Basic for Applications). Look through the various macros that are already stored in the file to understand how the data is being reformatted for compatibility with Power BI. Make changes to these macros as necessary as the Calc High Voltage sheet’s data is modified. Finish adding in your parameters for the calculated columns in your Power BI. This will include utilizing DAX and updating the already existing DAX expressions for the measures.
