Customer relationship management (CRM) is a software that manages all the ways a customer interacts with a business. Enterprise resource planning evolved out of material requirements planning which was another way for the manufacturers to understand and manage all the resources needed to operate a business successfully. The main difference between ERP and CRM is that ERP is primarily for financial data and the finance department, while CRM is customer data used by the sales and customer service departments. Both ERP and CRM are similar in a way because both business applications that store and analyze data in a relational database. They are delivered through the software as service model of the traditional om-premises model. b. Even though both ERP and CRM are very important to any business, CRM has a slightly higher role because it relates to the consumers. it can help you to gain new customers and retain existing ones which is very important factor for a successful business to remain functioning. High satisfaction level and happy customers result in more revenue and profit which is why for my company I would get a CRM over ERP.
