Organization: Argument – Focused Organization Audience: Neutral Words Count: 677 Computer use by children and adolescents Nowadays, some children addicted to computer. They also use their computer long time every day, don’t unlock themselves and can’t controlled computer. Computer are a necessary device to relax, work and update the latest information. Moreover, computer is developing day by day about the size which are smaller, convenience make friend apps and a lot of online games. Parents should control their children’s use of computer if they want their children use computer on the better way. Firstly, permissive parents allow their children use laptop long time per day. That is the reason of causes of bad behaviors. Parents have a rule for their children about computer time, but they don’t punish them whose use overtime their computer. They are spoiling and creating a bad behavior for their children which are wake up late, get low grades and start cantankerous. For example, when children use their laptop to play video games and stay up late. They can’t wake up early to go to school, but their parents just only reminded and not strictly punished. This situation keeps repeating and they get low grade. After that, their parents confiscated their computer, they will get upset with their parents. In addition, using computer for several hours per day, children create a habit for them to always depend on computers. When they are at school, teachers do not allow them to use computer, they look like do not know what to do without their computer. Moreover, they usually do homework with their computer and play games at that time. For example, they use computer
looking for the solution of their exercises and playing games on computer. They can’t control when they see some video games on computer screen. On the other hands, some parents believed that children do not have privacy when their parents always check out their computer. Sometimes, children have some difficult things to say to their parents and they use computers to confess to people who they trust. Both Aggarwal and Karande, who are pediatrics of Medical College and KEM Hospital, claim that children feel embarrass when they share their problems about their health by face-to-face. “In the study, young people were found to be more open about their health concerns with parents and doctors when communication occurred via email” ( 2018, pp.3). They alleged that computer is a device for children to confess difficult health problem for parents. Though I concede that computer can help children to confess problem about their health, I still insist that they are not adult, they need to be supervised by their parents. When children share their health for a doctor online, they do not know if they are a good doctors or anonymous doctors. They can make a bad friend to confess, they still need to be limited by belief people who are their parents. Furthermore, some parents insist on letting children detect new things in the virtual world and do not care what they explore. Aggarwal and Karande claimed that i nternet exposes us to varied ideas and provides us with the means to express our creativity by allowing our potential to engage in a range of experiences, which are otherwise impossible to do in the real world (2018). I think Aggarwal and Karande are mistaken because they overlook that in the virtual have two sides which are good and bad things and children who are too young, they are not really realize it. In other words, if parents don’t supervised their children in the virtual world, they will watch some violence videos and play some addictive video games. As a result, they start to behvae badly and disobeyed their parents and teachers.
To put it all in a nutshell, children look like young buds on tree branches, they can not realize everything is good or bad. Hence, parents should consider about the way which are children use their computer. Teaching them use their computer in the better way.
