2 Running Head: Project 2 Purpose Statement: The purpose of this paper is to put myself in the shoes of a digital forensics’ examiner. As an examiner I will be creating an investigation plan for a potential fraud case. In the paper it will document the process as well as collection methods for collecting evidence from drives and files. Scope Statement With this project it gives readers an insight on what approaches are needed for an investigation to take place on a potential fraud case. Using a technical report approach will allow for the project to be broken down into designated sections. Having these sections will keep an organized approach. The main objectives of this project is to outline an investigation plan, document the methods for collecting evidence, and document the specific hash algorithm. This overall approach will deliver a way to take on a potential fraud case. Limitation Statement: This project is not intended to dictate the way others work on their investigation.
