1. What impact will Self-Driving Cars have on society? Self-driving cars will greatly impact society, but the biggest would be the loss and creation of new jobs. First, the people who manufacture our vehicles would likely lose their jobs due to the different skill sets needed to build such a different car. Another field of work would be car insurance companies and repair shops due to self-driving vehicles being safer and reducing the number of accidents significantly. For example, companies such as Tesla are offering to tesla drivers as they claim it will be cheaper since they trust there self-driving feature in their cars. 2. Will Self-Driving Cars save money, or will road systems need to be equipped with additional sensors to aid fully automated vehicles? According to my research, self-driving cars would save a lot of money and space. This research used Tesla as an example to show that all technology can be stored within the same vehicle, and nothing has to be added to the existing roads. In addition, new prototypes of self-driving vehicles are safer than non-self-driving cars, meaning people will need to spend less money fixing accident repairs. Another way that self-driving cars will save money is the ability of these vehicles to be shared. So instead of everyone's vehicle being parked at home they can serve a different purpose and help others commute when the owner is not using it. 3. In cases where a crash is unavoidable, how does the software decide what or who to hit? In the case of an unavoidable accident, the software would decided whatever it is been programmed to do. This question is one of the most debatable conterveries to see if going the seld driving cars route is correct. It is estimated that around 80 millions dollars will be spend by companies trying to solve this issue. Although self-driving cars will save thousands of lives a year, it will have some difficult decisions to make when it is faced with a no win situation. But according to research, by the time self driving cars dominate the roads, our technology will be sophisticated enough to judge what option has the less chance of inflicting death. 4. How have computer technology advancements resulted in parallel social, government, and economic policy advancements? Computer technological advancements have had many economic benefits, such as saving paper. Companies now have their employees work on computers to do things such as sending letters, finding articles, and
reading the news, all from a single smart device. This has led to companies saving money which helps companies that work for the government. Any form of technology that can save money is the best form of tech for everyone. 5. Do you embrace the new forms of communication such as social media, texting, sharing pictures, or hide from them? I personally do embrace social media but only to a certain extent. I do own almost every form of social media type but I limit myself to how much I use it. The main reason I limit myself to the use of social media is due to time management. I know when I get caught up scrolling through social media, I can spend more time than intended,x so I give my myself time frames of the day when I can use it. But what I don't do is share my pictures. I like my privacy, and it makes me uncomfortable knowing that people know what I'm doing all the time.
