1) Graph the following equation for all of the values of x indicated. [10 Points] 3x + 4y = 10 for x = 0 to x = 2 2) Using algebra, determine the slope and y-intercept of the line represented by the following equation. [10 Points] (x - 3)(y + 2) - yx = 3 3) Solve the following linear system graphically. [10 Points] 4x = -5y and 2x + y = 6 4) Solve the following system of linear equation. [10 Points] y - 3x - 5 = 0 and 3y - 9x + 2 = 0 5) Solve the following system of equations and check your solution. [10 Points] 6.5x + 3.5y = 128 2.5x + 4.5y = 106 6) Set up an equation that describes the relationship between the two variables in the following. Graph that relationship. [10 Points] Nakia Company manufactures two products. Product 1 requires three hours of machine time per unit, while Product 2 requires four hours of machine time per unit. There are 120 hours of machine time available per week.
7) Set up a system of simultaneous equations to solve each of the following problems. [40 Points] a. A restaurant is offering two dinner specials. The difference between seven times the orders for the first special and four times the orders for the second special is 12. The sum of three-fourths of the orders for the first special and two-thirds of the orders for the second special is 21. Calculate the number of orders for each special. [20 Points] b. Marysia has saved $85.75 in quarters and loonies. If she has one quarter more than three-fourths the number of loonies, how many coins of each type does Marysia have?
