Week 2 Exercise Lab 1 Artificial Intelligence plays a crucial role in the functioning of Chatbots. It’s used to understand human language and provide personalized responses and offer instant replies. While there are some chatbots based on AI, there are others that are simply rule-based. Rule-based chatbots rely on predefined rules and scripts to guide interactions, by using simple rules and decision trees to respond and understand commands input by the user. Chatbots are computer programs that simulate human conversations. When the user of the chatbot sends a message or command, the chatbot begins to process the user’s input. If the chatbot is AI based then it will use Natural Language Processing and Natural Language Understanding to understand the intent of the user. If the chatbot is rule-based, then it will match the user’s input with the predefined rules. From there, the chatbot will send a generated response back to the user and if the chatbot is AI generated then it will learn from the interaction to help to improve future responses. There are a number of benefits that the use of Chatbots offer such as instant support, personalized interactions, scalability, and the automation of repetitive tasks just to name a few. Chatbots can provide instant support by providing immediate responses to queries, as well as being able to provide 24/7 customer support helping to improve customer satisfaction. The scalability comes into play since chatbots are able to handle multiple queries at a time, which in turn helps companies to save additional costs by scaling the customer service efforts. Chatbots also enhance the customer experience by providing personalized recommendations and updates, as well as handle all routine tasks which in turn frees up human employees to work on more complex issues.
Week 2 Exercise Lab 2 Chatbots are important for many different reasons, but mainly because they increase efficiency, reduce costs, enhance customer experiences, as well as provide insights for businesses. If I had the opportunity to create a chatbot, the type of chatbot I would create would more than likely be a Machine Learning Chatbot. I would use this Chatbot for voice assistance service, something similar to Alexa or Siri, simply because of the benefits that the service is able to provide of each different user.
